i just got dead space 2 but i'm so disappointed

I meant to ask you Gareth, apart from your key re-mapping problem, how does Dead Space 2 run on your rig? I've been thinking about picking it up myself but have read that the game has quite a few issues on PC. Any perfrmance issues you've noticed?
no performance issues so far.

the first afew minutes of that i played i was getting 105fps+ with my 6950 (unlocked shaders)@ 880/1250 , 1920x1080, maxed settings.

Nice one, runs pretty sweet on your machine then. The EA forums have quite a few posts about performance issues and game bugs. Hopefully these get sorted with patches. Think I might wait a little bit to see how it goes.

has anyone had issues trying to log in to EA forum?

Not logging in, but just browsing the forums I'm having a lot of problems with pages loading. Just keep trying is all you can do!

The EA forums are blocked at my college so I can't check out your post, but I really hope they take notice of your problem and implement a swift solution that allows you to enjoy your new game until you can look into some custom hardware that will make gaming more accessible and easier for you.

P.S Don't play Dead space 2 on your own with the lights out, it's ****-your-pants scary :P

Hey man, remember through the years we've had many discussions on the Graphics Card forum and seeing that video really is inspirational.

Props to you my man, can't imagine how I would cope in a similar situation, your determination and skill cannot be doubted one bit :)

Gareth, only one thing I can say - you sir, are a legend.

It's amazing how we as people adapt and cope with disability, you remind me of the guy that does backflips etc in his wheelchair. People like you and him have my upmost respect. :)

EA with all their big bucks really need to sort this out for you!

Not posted for a while, but just had to say how fantastic you guys have been
to gareth, really emotional stuff. He is a real inspiration.

If there is a way to make a donation, i would gladly help.

He has always had my respect and I have enjoyed reading his posts on a number of topics. It's people like Gareth and threads like these that make me realise what a great community this forum has.

I agree with you massively.

I read through a thread Gareth had started about customizing controls for F1 2010 when it was launched in September. He posted a picture in that thread to illustrate why he needed to customize the controls. The picture blew my mind !.

I'm going to sign up to the EA forums right now and bump his thread, I hope you guys will join me in order to keep his thread on there at the top of the pile.

Help out a fellow PC gamer !.

thank u SPARC, :)

i'm hoping one of the EA mods or Developer does looks at it and reply

another thing that makes me mad is they know once you're bought the game and opens it you can't return it, so if i take a chance and buy a game and if the controls can't be customisable, theres no way of returning it.

it shouldn't be like this.... games are not cheap

Thats true, I totally agree Gareth

I'm sure games of old had fully customisable controls, this seems to be a recent thing with the onset of ports from console versions of the games

I'm wondering if a direct email to someone high up at EA (for a start) is more than likely going to get more attention on a broader scale than posting on a forum. Or get a letter printed off and send it the EA UK Head Office.

Another idea is get in touch with one of the bigger gaming news websites such as Eurogamer/IGN etc, to get a news story posted as they are frequently in touch with different game/peripheral companies when they do interviews etc

This is an issue that really needs to be adressed

EDIT - Looks like the thread has been noticed by an admin on the EA forum! :)

I bypassed this thread as I thought it was just another 'OMG game is such a letdown' rant... seems I was wrong. Big props to you Gareth, you've achieved more than I would have thought possible given your predicament (and it's nice to be shown otherwise!). I hope you get the response from EA that you're after. :)
