IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover Anounnced with 128 player multiplayer

Nope, it wont according to the UBI forum manager, quite what that means for retail and steam version interaction I don't know, can a game utilise steamworks without being registered in steam?

This is one dirty situation, really not sure what version to buy.

Steam seems best as surely in the end most of the community will use it as the limited supply of hard copies won't last for ever as they can't of printed many.

Mmmm...

In short.... No

LOL

Looks like I will be cancelling my CE then if true.

How can you use the Steamworks features like cloud etc if your not running Steam?

Unless the Steam SKU is the only one with the Steamworks features?

Confusing.

Mmmm, do I cancel CE pre-order while I still can on the basis of the forum manager (I am unsure how accurate the information is as none of it makes sense) and order from Steam or wait a few days to see if anything else is clarified.

How the heck does this utilise Steamworks in any way if it is not tied to a Steam account?

Is it an option which has allways been in Steamworks but no other developer/publisher has been stupid enough to use?

Unfortunately I'm not gonna have this on release day, more funds have disappeared from my bank following on from the CRC fraud thing going on. so I'm gutted as hell, but rest assured ill be on it once its sorted.

Sticking with the CE here, if it turns out to be an issue with steam integration I'll kick up merry hell (sarcasm in case you missed it) then just buy it when inevitably on sale in a month or two.

That sucks.

If you want it gifting untill you have the funds, give us a shout ;)

Will probably do the same as the CE stuff is just too good - lol

Please note that the game will also use the Steam platform for services such as matchmaking, anti-cheat etc… So you will need a Steam account to play the game.

Will Steam be required for strictly offline use too?
