Intel to launch 6 core Coffee Lake-S CPUs & Z370 chipset 5 October 2017

Don't see why not, MCE just keeps the CPU at its highest boost state.
You might actually get higher all core clocks without MCE in some scenarios though, so you should test it out yourself.

does MCE work on the 8700 non K? If not is there any other way of forcing all cores to boost to max?

Got an 8700 coming next week, only cost 269, but would like to know if that functionality is reserved for the K variant.

Yeah mce works on the 8400.

But it's kind of works better just setting the clocks manually as it uses less voltage and boosts slightly higher with mce off.

You can set the clocks and stuff the same as the K you just can't go higher than the boost.

Latest bios version 0802 on maximus hero allows me to boot at XMP (4266) but its unstable.
The highest I can go with a 5ghz overclock in place is 3866 CL18 but its stable at least.

I can go 4000mhz with the CPU at stock but the gains from the CPU overclock are larger.

That is respectsble for a 4 dimm board.
With the strix itx my chip passed 2hrs Realbench 5.2 core, 4.4 cache, 4000 17-17-17-28. AVX offset 0.
Testing 4000 16-17-17-28 and 4.9 cache now. Seems solid so far (32 minutes).

Very impressive!
The strix itx is a brilliant little board.
3 faults up until this point:
1. Can't run memory at 1T
2. Can't go higher cache than 4.9Ghz
3. Can't use EK Supremacy block with my rams

I am honestly thinking of selling this board off and get the Asrock Z370 Faltality, been hearing a lot of good things about Asrock Z370 series so far.

Points 1 and 2 also apply to me so maybe an asus thing?
I originally wanted a taichi but there were none in stock at launch.

I will when I have the time :)
Cheers buddy :)

Just passed 2hrs Realbench test 5.2Ghz core, 4.9Ghz ram, 4000 16-17-17-28-2T.

cheers for that, new chip coming between 23-24th :D

Think I'm going with the Asrock K6 and already have some Corsair 3200 and a Kraken X61.

Amazing processor for the money I see that and was really temped to sell 8400 and stick it in.

The 8400 has been flawless though so haven't bothered.
