lmao steve-h, genuine trying not to laugh at work lolz right now!

Edit:- Christ! I looked at your sig and let out a brief actual laugh. I need to get out of this thread asap.

ok, I've done it, asked out the girl at work. Been thinking about it for a week now and thought what the hell, grab life by the balls and jump. So first thing in the morning this morning I went up to her desk and ask her out to dinner sometime next week. (By dinner I meant evening meal), her first reaction was "awwwwwwwwww"…then she asked if its after work? I said yes, then she said "awwwwwwwwwww"….again, then she said "I got a lot on after work in the evenings but we can go at dinner time" (by that she meant lunch. Stupid regional differences in meaning of lunch/tea/dinner). She then said "yeah, we'll do dinner next week."

The good thing is that I got a date, albeit a lunch time one, but what's with all the "awwww" , Did she find it cute? lol

Yea and awww can be a good thing. She finds you cute it's a start.

See how the date goes and take it from there, slowly slowly catch the monkey and all of that!

Done it too many times, flings, 1-2 day dates and some ended up being relationships which didn't last long.

Think nothing of it, could be for a million reasons but going by your story I would probably assume she was flattered and thought it was cute...

Eaither that or she is having a joke with her friends at work that you tried to chat her up ;)

If she wasn't interested she wouldnt go out at all with you.

i have done it maybe not actual dating sites but just social websites.
the ones i went out with normally only lasted 2-5 months so nothing really serious.
However i met my current GF through friends in a club in London and i was living in switzerland back then, so Myspace, MSN, Skype came in pretty handy afterwards ;)

p.s. i really wished they would teach you proper english at school then i wouldn't of had such problems with the communication at the beginning :D

Yeah me too..

Also...

I’ll give anyone a warning about e-harmony, as many years ago I joined up on a yearly subscription, pay three months at a time…..

I hardly used the site, to be honest I lost all faith in ever finding anyone via internet dating, and subsequently found a wonderful girl at a social evening a few months after I signed up….

I cancelled the account, this was quite a few years ago. The cost was around £100 or something, three payments of £35…. I was informed I’d need to pay for the whole year. So I put it down to being a bit silly, and took it as a fine and paid up – in full.

This was in April 2008. April 2009 was when it expired. May 2009 I noticed that they’d helped themselves to yet another yearly subscription on my credit card.

In total I’ve paid nearly £250 to e-harmony and have not been able to get any refunds. I’ve since cancelled my credit card, and wrote the whole thing off as a bad experience…

I met my girlfriend at a simply mingling event in Milton Keynes, that cost me £18 for evening meal and the chance to mingle with new people… £18 for a night out, some fun and to met someone special, as opposed to £250 and endless emails that went nowhere…

I’ve never talked about this, as I felt I was scammed… and that’s never sat right with me.

Ermmm surely if you have cancelled the account and the billing then they have absolutely no right to take anymore money out of your cc or account. Id be emailing them and telling them in no uncertain terms that you want your full refund asap...theres no way on earth i would have put that down to a silly mistake mate...

Plus i find it hard to believe that to cancel your account they would want 3mths upfront??...no dating website ive ever been on has ever had those sorts of terms..maybe a mths payment in advance.

You only got scammed because you allowed yourself to be scammed....id be emialing or ringing them and asking for a full refund...why would they charge you 3mths advance to cancel your account:confused:...when you arent even using it anymore.

I am hoping !!!! She is wayyyy out of my league lol

She reminds me of Megax Fox, but with a nicer smile :)

Normally I would try to get to know a girl better so i know what we have in common before asking her out but that's not been working lately. I end up putting more doubts in my head the more i know a person. Best approach now is to just go for it, if she says no then can still be friends without that questions lingering over my head.

I signed up for a yearly subscription, and you can opt to pay it over three payments, £35 each payment, this gives you 12 months usage of the site.. Works out as £35 for three months, you get three months for free on the eharmony yearly scheme...

Its quite common with eharmony, its meant to work out cheaper then paying £30 a month….. So obviously, I signed up for this, and its in their terms that once you agree to this, you have to pay the three payments, regardless of if you use the service or not..

I had no problems with that…I signed up for it, was a mistake and I paid up... I did however have a problem with them taking another years payment 'once' I'd cancelled the account…. That ‘I’ did complain about, and tried for months, even went down to the trading standards to get my money back.. They didn’t budge…. I sent numerous emails, mostly unanswered, and in the end just wrote it off…

http://www.consumeraffairs.com/dating_services/eharmony.html lots are getting done for this, its not that uncommon… Like I say, cancelled my credit card in the end, as advised by my card provider..

I didn’t allow myself to be scammed.. Trust me, I did fight for my money back…
