Yup, I know, but its hard to put it into practice. Soooo hard, and in fact the more thoughts put into it, the harder it is. I almost didn't either but I practically forced myself to and it's well so far :)

I'm standing at 4 Deleteds, 6 Reads, 1 Unread and 0 Replies on my final fling on PlentyOfFail. A week more in case people are slow replying and it's delete account time methinks :)
 
I'm nearing the point of giving up on online dating, there's nothing new, I've sent messages out to the few I've had any remote interest in, been snubbed by some, and the one's I've had so far have been bitter disappointments, and there's no way I'm lowering my standards :p

not wasting my time on "meh" :p

no judgement here but i'd be more worried that you're aiming too young than for someone too old...

again stranger things have happened, my uncle was a massive paedo and courted my aunt when she was like 17 and he was 26, they're married with two kids now.

The age gap is huge @ 9 years, and thats why I'm treading carefully as its breaking the rule of 'half your age plus 7' = 20.5 for me. To clear things up, I'm defo not a paedo!

No mention of court summons in there at all.

you think thats huge? my parents are 16 years apart :eek: not so bad when i was younger but now my dad is more like a granddad. he's always miserable and moans constantly, drives me and my mum up the wall most days lol

I've removed myself from match but i'm still getting emails...obviously to try and lure me back...but it's not working lol

yea, sadly my job is pretty much a sausage fest, and I don't have many opportunities to meet women who I have much in common with, hopefully as my social circle expands I'll meet more people who're more likely my style, but yea, internet dating is coming to a close for me
 
Well I've literally just started internet dating. Initially I found it hard to event think what to write as a "Hi" type message, but I've just managed to fire off 4 tonight without too much hastle...we'll see if I get any interest...wish me luck!
 
I've now stopped all internet dating as I've been with someone 'officially' since Christmas Eve.

Overall it's going well although some of my character traits (hammered into my by previous relationships) have been picked up on. Nothing major but I do have to be more confident and believe in myself. It's quite hard as I'd had a really rough few years with my previous gf, however my gf now is really an amazing person so it's worth giving it everything to overcome my insecurities..
 
I've been trying on and off on a couple of sites and I've really it off with one girl but there's a slight catch. She lives in Manchester while I live in Nottingham. We're only messaging each other through the site at the moment, but I feel like we're really getting along well and we seem to have a lot in common from our conversations that we've been having. So, a question to you all, would you consider persuing this further, considering she lives 70 miles away?
