Ditched the "when not at work line" pictures wise i really don't have any ill try and get some friends to take some over the next couple of weeks. More humour would be good ill try and do some improvements tomorrow, think ive been looking at it too long for today want to make sure the profiles decent before i try messaging anyone.

By the looks of the photo it's using the flash as the lighting is quite harsh giving that startled eyes look. If at all possible try and cover the flash with something like a white cloth/paper to diffuse/soften the light.
And as people have mentioned dont stand face on, stand just turned to one side - we all have our "best" side or in my case the lesser of two evils

the fun with digital photography is the fact you can take loads of pictures for free and experiment. If you're worried about your arms for now, just do shoulders and above shot, but dont get too close to the camera, just crop it from shoulders up

yeh, I have to wear black to work, so I kind of just got loads of black clothes as it was easier.
