Ok im about to go out for my first date, we were gonna go for a coffee and if it went well maybe a bit of lunch. The thing is she sent me a text that she might have to bring her baby nephew. Is that a bit odd and maybe a redflag or should i just ignore it?

I don't mind single mothers, as long as we get on. No news on the dating front as yet but I haven't been able to do much work on that this week. Maybe next week will allow for it though!

Well, she might have had to look after her siblings kid for that day. Still, I'd be more than a little put off by that on a first date to be honest.
Just came back, rather interesting....
As soon as i arrive at the town i get a text saying she is having lunch with her sister in law can we meet in an hour. Cue me going for a bit of walk and then a couple pints down the pub. I meet her an hour later in a cafe with the eight month old nephew. Talking to her was very easy, she did seem very friendly and i wasnt nervous at all it was like ive known her for ages. I offered her a coffe but she already had one and a jacket potato with her sister in law, so that left me thinking guess we wont be going out for lunch.
I learned quite a bit about her, but she didnt seem to ask much about me.
She made it clear that she wants to be married and then children, so at least shes old fashioned. She also told me about her ex's which have all been horrible to her from mental and physical abuse to cheating on her so shes after a nice man.
After all this sitting here typing, im still tempted to go out with her again. Ideally with no nephew.

haha she made some basic mistakes.
1. don't talk about ex's on first date
2. don't talk about marriage on first date
3. don't bring kids along on first date
4. don't be serious on first date about future
5. don't delay the date for something else that is unimportant
i hate to say this but i suspect you're continuing with this girl because you have no other good options, had you had 2/3 other girls lined up for a date i'm sure you'd think this was a bad date from her end.
sure conversation was ok but this is the easy thing to talk about yourself.

Not good, It doesn't look like she was making any attempt to impress you or ask about you and with her giving you a shopping list of requirements I'd get ready to put your nuts in a storage box and be hen pecked for the rest of the relationship.

Makes you wait an hour, shows up with nephew (WTF?!), talks about ex boyfriends (who abuse and cheat), talks about marriage and kids, doesn't ask much about you and texts later same day seeking approval.
Seems a bit of a mentalist to me.
Sounds like a pretty heavy first date! She sounds like she'd be trouble in the long run, she sounds like she will want you as some sort of emotional support.

But to be fair dude you seem like a bit of a odd guy (in a good way), so that comes as no surprise.
She is clearly one to avoid... but I'm sure you will find that out under your own steam if that's what it takes for you to learn to read the obvious signs.
