Meeting people may well be easier in real life (not that I find it so :p) but finding ones who are single, have more than half a brain cell, enjoy things other than drinking themselves into a coma etc is a whole other kettle of fish..

Couple more days and I'll be arranging another date with this girl. Somehow she seems to really like me :o :D

Thanks mate :) Shes pretty awesome, very similar personalities, great sense of humour, doesn't have kids/marriage like the previous ones I've been involved with. And shes a little mental which helps.

She's also a foodie, so convincing her to go out to dinner is never an issue :D

2nd date on Wednesday :)

That depends if he calls her again after they sleep together.

I don't think it is really easier for women, it just seems that way because they get a lot of attention from people who think buying them a dinner few times and pretending you want a relationship is a good way to get sex. They'd also be right, it works if you have the ability to pay attention and not act like a retard.

Not really talking about the parent specifically btw, I just don't think it's really easier for woman if they want anything real. If anything it might be harder because of all the BS and the fact they become seriously picky to a point where only liars can actually win a date.

If anything it's easier for men because you don't really need to deal with retards all the time and when a woman messages you, you know she's probably pretty interested rather than just playing numbers.

Not sure I really agree with this. I'd imagine that any man or woman will have to deal with a certain percentage of duff dates, whether because their date is a liar and douchebag etc. or just not right for them. Of course being cautious initially and getting to know them before getting involved is a wise move, and should largely prevent what you're talking about (i.e. men looking for a quick hit and run).
The difference is that any half decent-looking woman will have a good choice of people to date without putting in much effort, whereas for men unless you're an underwear model it requires a fair amount of legwork.

Seriously? Come on dude, you're a man. You know how much you are willing to twist your personality/act up in order to get the right side of a girl's knickers... if you're like any other man, that's a pretty large amount.

I agree with Zefan, this is a myth. The testosterone running through my body is willing to lie, cheat and steal in order to get in a womans knickers and I'm more the guy my Mum told me to be than the guy woman actually fall for. It's a constant battle and I imagine many of us would have no problem putting up a facade for months to achieve that goal.

Maybe you are different but I honestly feel we're all like this and it's just a case of whether or not you have values which mitigate this behavior. Of course many woman don't like men to be particularly open about such things, so we all pretty much default to some level of dishonesty in our dealings with them.
 
First date seems to have went well, had a drink so possibly talked too much. But did get a good kiss. Shall text her later for a second see how it goes. Totally perfect for me though, apart from the distance. But in my job that's always bound to happen
 
I have come off dating online now I really feel sorry for woman that constantly get bombarded with messages from blokes over and over again.

I created a fake female account to see for myself.

Within 25 seconds of the account going live... there was 125 messages.

/sigh
 
All I can suggest lately is that if there is a "social group" going on in your town... Get the **** in to town and join them.. Oh my.. :eek:
 
Recently re-tweaked my profile, sent 3 messages and had all reply, although one seems to have fizzled out. The other two can actually string a few big sentences together so that's a bonus.

Although after getting a girls number on there it all seems to fizzle out as well. I'm not sure if because on PoF it's much more defined as back and forth, where as on WhatsApp it's very much like an IM.
 
To the replies to my post above - to be fair, I'm rubbish at the whole dating / relationship thing, so I guess take what I say with a pinch of salt :D
 
just signed up to match.com, took the 6 month option for £78 but got £45 cash back, so works out roughly £6 per month, not too bad.

not sure if it's simply because it's different, but i ****ing hate match.com, just how much it pops up trying to get you to spend more and more, and it's incredibly slow and hard work.

i'll give it a good chance as i'm desperate after all, however pof to me is a much more enjoyable experience. i'm also noticing all the girls from pof on match.com, which is great as i'm now paying money for them to ignore me :D

On the bright side, they may be getting spammed less on match (I dunno that for sure) so it may be a better plan of attack as long as you ignore them on pof. :)
