Surely that makes it harder for women in a way, since if they have 50+ messages in their inbox and a constant stream of new ones, eventually they are going to stop reading every single one and they will end up missing out on decent guys.

I'd imagine it's fairly easy to scan through 50 messages and pics. It's either that or scan through hundreds of profiles, and at least if they've messaged you then you know they're interested.

Yes, all women I've been out with says the same thing. But so what if they get 20+ messages a day. 95% of the guys that message them don't follow the 2 rules and 95% of women that have messaged me don't follow it either.

They won't stop reading every message as it's not needed to be read in the first place. Bad pictures will disqualify you right away. That takes only 10sec to check. Same with women messaging me, albeit only about 3-4 per week. I sometimes (rarely though) get perfectly written emails with excellent spelling, vocabulary and funny lighthearted jokes. But looking at the pictures I want to despair. It's very harsh but the true reality of dating this way. People are going to be judgemental. You can't take it personally.

On an unrelated note, had a 3rd date with the lawyer and this time we made it back to her place and ..... ahem .... a good time was had by all! Her place, oh my goodness. What a posh little pad. 3 bed close to Wimbledon tennis club with magnificent views. If rent there is under 2800 - 3000 a month I'll eat my hat.
Was a bit sick with food poisoning yesterday and she wanted to come over straight away to take care of me. Sweet gal. I hope things work out.

I've been struggling to find enthusiasm to make use of my new Match account - just not really in the mood. Hearing a success story might just give me the motivation to make more effort!

I've been on Match since beginning of January, sent one message which got no reply so gave up But decided to give things another go on Friday, rewrote my profile and added some more photos, and winked at 9230039 women and now I'm actually talking with 4 of them.
