No problems. it's a bit daunting at first but it should work for the next couple of days until Apple stop signing iOS 7.1.2 after that there will be no going back without jailbreaking i think.

Is the Ipad mini retina the Ipad mini 2 ?
 
I'm downgrading now. Battery life on my 5 seemed to be better before iOS 8, coupled with bugs in Safari, photo upload issue, etc seems pointless updating for features that I will never benefit from. May upgrade when those issues are ironed out.

EDIT: Spoke too soon. Can't restore from my backup because it's iOS 8. Hnngh. Why did they make backups version specific.

I put 7 back on but tbh it felt just as sluggish as 8 for some reason, So I downloaded the iOS 8 image file and did a complete re-install via the pc and itunes.

It's much better now and everything is smooth again.

Hopefully it will stay this way.
 
I like the way safari gives about 3% extra real estate when you scroll down. The animation is beautiful. For that I'm loving the <20% battery life on my iPad.

Looking forward to a jailbreak.
 
For all those enjoying the time lapse function, I'd suggest you also take a look at Hyperlapse on the App Store. It has great stablisation built in and delivers a far smoother video if you're taking it on the move.

Yep, I've been having that issue on my 5S.

It also seems to be really slow over Wi-Fi at home which sucks, Facebook regularly tells me it has no data connection.
 
anyone else got problems with album art in music?

lost loads of album art, some are still showing but most have gone.:(

I think it was mentioned to delete music and re-download but that's a pain for people with tons of music.

Who test's apples software?

Having similar issues with my daughter's Ipad mini, extremely frustrating.
 
I actually did this yesterday afternoon after getting one or two other issues and thought, what the hell, give it a go :)
The problem is definitely still there though with wifi, maybe not as bad. Fixed the other issues I got though which were app specific.
 
I don't like the way the screen can rotate 180 degrees in potrait mode, I always pull it out my pocket and the screen is upside down. Not sure if it's only a problem on the new iPhones or iOS 8 as well
