*** iPhone 5 - Revealed! ***

What's he latest of this scratching issue? Seems to be some mixed opinion across the Internet with some damaged out of box and others finding it too easy to scratch

How can they get things so right but yet so wrong?

The phone looks amazing and is one tough sob. The drop tests have well impressed me. Remind me of the very first iphone. That thing was a tank but yet it seems to be the easiest scratched phone yet :/

Well I've got the 64gb White one, It's a good phone, but I think I have been so used to using android and the S3 that I can't go back to iphone, OH NO! Can't believe I'm saying that!!

There are some things that are better on the iphone like the audio player (louder and better quality) but I don't like the elongated screen, I think I've been spoilt by large AMOLED. Also I think the S3's camera is still way better.

Not really impressed by the new earpods either, over bassy. But the general usage of the phone is nice and fast.

There seems to be a lot of 'fantastic upgrades' going on. In reality I think its more people trying to convince themselves that its an amazing upgrade. There's a youtube video posted a few pages back, with some guy from the USA. Its all so true ;)

Coming from a iPhone 4 it's a big upgrade. Mines immaculate out of the box. I really think the whole anodising issue is massively exaggerated much like the antenna issue on the 4. Just seems like people jump on the bandwagon.

Why would I possibly be trying to convince myself that it was a good updates? It is!

I got the phone yesterday afternoon and must say I'm very impressed. The physical differences are subtle, the lightness/thinness/length but the more you use it the more you appreciate it.

The speed of the thing is pretty unreal, almost like you are using something futuristic. The apps are starting to trickle through to make use of the extra screen real estate too which can only be a good thing.

I've gone from a white 4S to a white 5. Given the choice again I would still upgrade to this in a heartbeat.

Anybody heading to an Apple Store over the next few days?

After the initial rush and the next few shipments come in I might have a punt at walking into an Apple store and getting one.

Still undecided on 16 vs 32GB, I have iTunes match so do I *really* need 32GB? :/

It's to try and win over the samsung galaxy crowd ;)

:D

Not sure what you mean? Yes, it's a little lighter than the last couple of iPhone iterations but it is made of excellent materials and is built to an obviously high standard. Build quality wise it's in a different league to the plasticky android phones.

Definitely agree with you, but i can't help but feel that his phone feels a lot cheaper than my iPhone 4S (I'm not complaining though:p)

I was expecting this aluminium beast to be a tad heavier :p

Damn was going to cancel my 5 but it's started to ship. I think I'll stick with my 4s for a while and see what happens with ios6 maps and the scratching issues. Really hate phones that you need to protect with covers, I've battered my 4s and it's not got a scratch on it.

the more I read this thread the more inclined I am just to keep my 4 - till the home button completely stops working :)

I saw Tesco are doing sim only £20 monthly contract for 2gb data+ 1500 mins/texts - seems cheap to me

and just buy myself an Ipad 3 instead :)

:D

Me too. My 4S feels more like an adults phone where this feels more like a toy.

I will get used to it though as so far its a great phone

So much love has gone into wrapping the lightening connector :)

Has anyone else had this issue?

I received my phone yesterday on orange, put the sim card straight in and turned it in on and connected it to iTunes. I didn't go to the orange website first to activate the sim. I thought itunes or the phone would just do it automatically, but now when I go to make a call it just says "calls from this number are barred", I can receive calls though. I then went on to the orange website and tried to activate the sim and it just says this sim can not be activated at this time or has already been activated.
My girlfriend activated hers online first before connecting to itunes and worked straight away. I have tried calling orange and they say to leave it 24 hours and I should not be able to receive calls, just think this is weird that I can.
