*** iPhone 5 - Revealed! ***

My replacement is being delivered tomorrow, which (considering I complained at 7:45pm on Friday) is quick.

I'm still awaiting for mines to be delivered. Ordered through Apple Store on pre-order. Delivery is around 2nd Oct to 8th Oct, Estimated delivery. TBH, i can't be arsed waiting anymore.

Jealous that everyone have got thiers :(

Is it possible if i print out my Email confirmation, and take it into apple store and pick one up? Or do i have to play the waiting game?

Just saw this pic, Apple have really stepped up the screen to match the iPad3 in-terms of colour which is great, really hard not to love this phone.

The first thing I noticed about the 5 when I got it was the how much better the screen looked than my 4S.

Exactly what mine says mate. Ordered at about 7:30pm on the 14th. Although I'm now considering taking a drive up to the Leicester store (closest one to Nottingham) or trying my luck at an O2 shop!

Mine is out for delivery today, i am going to miss it though because i am at work! i had a go with my friends on Friday and i really don't know if i will be keeping it or my S3 to be honest.

It seems like a lot of people are sending these back either because they have decided they want a different colour, there are marks on them out of the box or with moderate use, or simply because they are not sure they want one anymore. The hype certainly worked for some people to go out and pre-order a £500+ peice of equipment before they had seen it in the flesh.

Pre-ordering is ok on things like a £30 game, but why do people preorder on expensive items like this. Just because this phone has been released doesn't make everything else before it no good. Waiting a week or two to get opinions on colour, build quality and performance is surely common sense. Then go to the shop and see the item before buying it, making sure it is unmarked.

Whats going to happen to all the returned phones. They cant resell them as new with the same IMEI.

I am considering taking mine back. Not because I don't love the phone, I really do, just I don't want to end up in a situation where in a few months time it looks absolutely ghastly with silver scratches everywhere just from normal use and I'm stuck with it, £600 on a phone that will look like a £6 phone unless in a case will be a bitter pill to swallow.

Maybe Apple will address the problem soon?

I wouldn't count on it :( I'm just going to try and be extra careful for a while. I normally keep it super clean and tidy for the first month - then I care less and less :p

Whats wrong with using a screen protector like a Zagg? Or having it insured so if it gets mangled, just get a new one after a year

Because I spent enough on the phone as it is, I shouldn't have to spend another monthly fee or up front fee for insurance just to make up for a design fault, and I doubt insurance would class it as anything other than wear and tear.

I totally appreciate that the case is an option, but one of the big selling points for me about the phone is its design, and Apple themselves go on about how it's the most beautiful device they've ever made, yet to keep it that way I'm expected to keep it hidden away in a case? That's not on, not on a £600 phone

And the screen protectors would be fantastic if they made like a clear film for the edges, but the screen and the back aren't my concern, it's the edges that appear to be prone to scuffs and the black wearing off

Isn't it just another bumper style case? Those can be worse than not having a case, my iPhone 4 got ruined by one of those with the dust and stuff sitting in between.

nope, its a shield screen protector. Invisishielf that scratch and drill proof apparently (not tested with the old black n decker yet!)

you can get an extreme one too that is even harder

I tried one today - and was rather unimpressed vs my Iphone 4

yes did feel quicker, but I didn't feel that screen looked thatmuch better, or that extra screen area was of any use

I was hoping for improved battery life - but that doesn't seem to be the case frominitial reports

so I think I'll stick to what I have - the 4 still doesn't feel slow

I could keep my 4, get an Ipad3 and a Nexus 7 and still be quids in vs getting an Iphone 5 :)

5 million sold in 3 days so lower than analysts expected but still higher than the 4 million 4S they sold last year. Also a lot of countries still haven't got the iPhone either.

Yeah the battery is definitely better for me, by now my 4S would be on about 20% after work and a whole day of music and games at lunch. But it's sat here at 45% which is awesome
