*** iPhone 5 - Revealed! ***

If you watch the iPhone 5 trailer you actually see the process of how they chamfer the edge using a robotic grinding wheel. My guess is the loose metal shards are not falling cleanly off the body of the phone or they are getting bashed around during the rest of the production process.

Hard to say without seeing every stage of the process tbh.

I know which part you mean. Its actually my favourite part of the video. Yeah I guess if a shard is forced to go around the wheel instead of cleanly coming off then yeah its gonna do that.

So guys, I'm going to buy the 32gig model out right now - Can anyone please confirm that the apple store is the only place I can order it?

3/4 weeks until dispatch :/

Does anyone have any issues with the wifi? Its quite a bit slower than my 4S with exactly the same settings on each (just a different ip)

There are numerous threads already including this one

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4322714?start=0&tstart=0

The yellow screen and wifi problems are making me think about returning it within 7 days for a refund and going back to my 4S

Also, when you tilt the ip5 on a solid white screen, you can sort of see faint rainbow like waves on the screen which are not present on the 4S. Does anyone have any tech info on the screen changes?

I don't mind waiting, it's fine! Looks as if that's the only way to order one then? :)

Can someone answer this for me - With a sim free phone...

I cans still transfer my number across from vodaphone right? Also, does the contract start the day I buy the sim or the day I insert/activate it?

Thanks!

Yo Gussy.

I'm on a Vodafone sim only contract and just went in asked for them to move my contract to a nano sim. They ask a few details, give you the sim, and your current Sim will stop working within ~30 minutes.

By the time I was home / put my new nano Sim in, everything was fine and dandy!

Speaking of this, need to pick up a new micro Sim for my 4S :)

Got a link of the source? Or could you say post a pic of north Devon coverage?

North Devon isn't covered currently.

Everything Everywhere 11th September said:
Four cities – London, Bristol, Cardiff and Birmingham – are switched on today for the company’s engineers to begin live testing and systems integration, in readiness for the customer launch.

EE’s 4G network will cover a third of the UK population in 2012 – over 20 million people – and customers on the EE brand will also have access to the largest 3G network in the UK outside of the 4G cities. Further towns, cities and rural areas, will follow rapidly with 2013 population coverage to reach 70%, with 98% covered by 2014.

EE’s 2012 launch schedule will see 16 areas of the country connected to 4G by Christmas – the UK’s four capitals and twelve further major cities. The 16 cities are London, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Derby, Glasgow, Hull, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, Sheffield and Southampton.

Since that statement, it's been revealed that the first ten of the 16 cities will be London, Bristol, Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Sheffield, Edinburgh, Glasgow.

Yo, I'm moving from vodafone to three so it will be completely different!

I'm going to buy this sim - Ultimate Internet SIM 600 12 months- Can someone please tell me...Does the contract start the day I buy the sim or the day I activate it?

I'd strongly recommend you get a Three PAYG SIM and test the indoor coverage where you live - the 2100mhz signal really doesn't penetrate into buildings very well, and there is no 2G to fall back on in most places as they have turned it off. I switched to Three but had to leave within a week because the indoor coverage was useless, and their coverage checker predicted strong indoor coverage! I ended up with T-Mobile which is a lot better.

does everyone else have a screen that looks like this next to a 4 or 4S? (iPhone 5 on right)

I've been told that the screen may have a yellowish tint for the first few days of use due to a type of glue that is used which needs time to set (or something like that :p). Basically - don't cry until you've had a few days of use out of the thing and it's still yellow :p
