*** iPhone 5 - Revealed! ***

damn! been using it since saturday?

How did you restore the phone or did you set it up as new? Has it been on flight mode? :p

Restored the phone from a backup which was from my 4s which I did before selling it a week ago, Did this Saturday afternoon.

I turn off 3g and data when not needed for long periods, like at night or weekend when I am at home and use other devices.

:D

So just leave wifi on and no mobile data?

It does feel a bit light but it flies

Personally I would have been more than happy with a same sized phone as the 4s with A6 processor and big fat battery. Maybe chuck in 1gb more ram too

Bigger battery = longer charge times and more size. A6 appears to be extremely efficient - it's rather remarkable that a battery that is virtually identical in capacity to the old 4S (which didn't exactly have bad battery life) can make the thing last so long!

As for more memory...why? It already has 1GB of memory, and iOS is pretty strict in the way it handles apps running in the background. It's completely unnecessary, and in this case will make literally no difference.

Going phoneless for the next few days/years until I pick a 5 up. Going to be painful...not going phoneless, but more the fact that I want the thing so bloody badly!

I woundlt mind long charge time if it lasted 5 days. More size - its got slimmer so they could have kept it the same size as the 4s and just had a bigger battery

Know what you say about memory but more cant be a bad thing, maybe some even better game. Though Max Payne runs 10 times as fast as it did on my pc when it was released

Should see some nice games coming to the ip5 / ipad 3 with the amount of people using an ip5

On the recommendations here I've gone for a DFU reinstall. I've the remainder of this week and a long weekend in Spain to get through. If the battery hasn't settled by then I'm looking at Windows 8. I much prefer the new W8 system but love the Apple hardware. Ultimately I need a phone that I can actually use frequently all day every day. I've not seen any evidence that the 5 can get through a day and an evening so far.

seems battery life on the Iphone 5 is not bad at all - but I was expecting some kind of nice improvement with a new more efficient and modern processor

as a comparison - here is a day from my Iphone 4 - mix of web-browsing on 3G, listening to spotify, video playback, and some games played

To get that much battery life would require a huge battery...and honestly, who genuinely needs five days? Two I can see, but five is really excessive. As for memory, more can't be a bad thing, but honestly, it's enough. Games won't see a difference with that much (well, not now).

And resize your pictures, my MBP is crying for mercy! :P

So my battery life isn't too bad then?

6% battery left after
6 Hours, 28 mins usage
16 Hours, 9 mins standby.

Used a lot of 3G at work, been on wifi at home, about an hour in calls, tested the Nav and send a lot of texts and a couple of emails, also used facebook.

The blackberry I used a few years ago at work lasted 6 days with emails constantly on and quite a few calls. That was also smaller than any iphone

done

My battery currently on

2 hours 54 min usage
16 hours 17 min standby

57% left
