*** iPhone 5 - Revealed! ***

What does everyone think of the new iPhone earphones?

I've just tried them for the first time this evening and although they are better and a lot more comfortable than the previous ones - I find them a little too bassy for my liking...

Drum and Bass, Dubstep and Dance sound pretty awesome - but I don't like my Rock as bassy :p

I think they still do leak a fair bit of sound - I didn't have anyone with me at the time but when I played music at a fairly high level and held the open bit closed, I could still hear it a little. It's possibly a little better than the previous earphones but not as good as buying a Sennheiser pair for example.

My iPhone5 has just started telling me no sim card installed.

had to pop it out and back in three times this morning not every time does it pick it up.

I have some test devices at work we use for IOS app development i put my sim in them it works fine.

If it keeps this up today genius bar for me!

Just to confirm guys I got my BLACK 16GB iPhone 5 on Monday and it came with zero damage no dents, scratches or nothing so i'm very pleased.

New iPhone 5 quality control checks are clamping down on scuffing, slowing down production

This is what I've been waiting for. I'll be getting one soon.

you know thats only to stop them arriving damaged which you could check for by opening a box before you pay for it?

The way I read it is they're not doing anything to help it not get scratched easily in use?

I can't believe I haven't got one yet to be honest! The novelty has worn off already and work haven't even pulled their finger out to get us handsets and I bet half of you have bought the stuff I've sold to go with it!

I wouldn't damage it anyway, so getting one in pristine condition is my main concern.

I think people are going OTT about how easily it scratches. Every other high end phone scratches easily too. The main competitor has a bloody plastic back (Samsung GS3). I don't know what people are expecting? It's aluminium it will scratch. It's either that or use glass again or plastic making it look worse and going back a step. It only seems to be made a issue of if Apple do it. Before iPhones when I had normal yet expensive mobiles the paint of the cheap plastic Nokia covers would just come off from being in a pair of jeans. Coming scratched out of the box is just plain unacceptable however.

Finally had AppleCare send me a replacement device, and while it is basically perfect (it's not got silver specs!), there appears to be scratching underneath the anodisation, which is a bit of a shame. Not really sure whether to send it back for a replacement or keep it. The power button on this one is loose, but it doesn't buzz when the phone vibrates, which is the most important thing.

Probably don't have a case, and to be honest I'm betting a fair few phones are much the same. The phone is pretty much perfect. Won't do another swap, perfectly happy with this one, and I've come to learn that while we pay a lot of money for these things, it's more a case of finding the best one you can, rather than a perfect one. Shame, but hey, that's just the way it is.

Any opinions would be appreciated regarding the anodisation, will be heading into my local store to have a look at the display models for the same thing.

Mate no offence but you don't half talk some drivel. Mine came perfect i'd expect nothing but perfection from any product out of the box never-mind a phone that's meant to be aesthetically the most precise and best on the market for the mere price of £529 minimum!

Been through four 4Ss and now three/four iPhone 5s, as well as three iMacs and numerous other bits. It's more a warines of replacing a device when it is technically fine and could be replaced with something worse. The phone is technically not damaged, that's the main thing.

Made a post a week or so back on my Apple experiences, you'll see why I'm so concerned.

Just hoping to get some opinions before deciding whether to swap it out. Not going to bother if the rough finishing appears to be common for all devices.

Must admit I'm somewhat half and half when it comes to issues with Apple products.

Had quite a few issues with my 2010 iMac but it got sorted (eventually..) and they even added another 2 years to my 3 year HE warranty (making it 5 in total) as a goodwill which was nice.

Phone wise its only the iPhone 4 we've had any issues with .. that blasted home button! They did replace it 2 months out of warranty though which, again, is nice.

One of my friends bought an imac and returned it because the spec was not what he ordered. When he went in store (think he got it in comet) someone said "why are you returning it???" he had taken back a 15-inch: 2.3GHz Retina display, he bought a 15-inch: 2.3 GHz

devistated!

had no problems at all with mine.

no rattle. no scratches out of the box.

using it with no protection and still no scratches even though it sits in my jeans pocket with my blackberry.
