*** iPhone 5 - Revealed! ***

I just asked a worker at Orange (well EE IT div) and he says the product isn't in CSS (their lovely customer management tool) yet so anything they are saying is speculative.

I'm implying that there are no provisional prices in the system for the CSR to give because the product database does not contain any no the tools they use for upgrades so there's no point in assuming any pricing information until release. As you obviously know an employee at Orange if you doubt anything I said feel free to ask them, they will know how CSS works in all likelyhood. If you were instead saying you got a 40% discount then honestly... I don't even know why you would.

No, I was specifically be told and used it as an example as the entry package being £45/pm like the past 4years, I would be getting it at £27 as an example told to me specifically by a staff member. E.g a provisional price. I was never told yeah done sealed, noted on your account, iPhone price of £27/pm.

(no offence :D)

Anyway back OT!

Here's the new 3.8v battery! (Apparently :p) It's still quite small at 5.45 wHr but that's not bad considering how thick it is. Looks about right for a ~7.5mm phone?

Anyone else got any concerns about the availability of nano sims if that's what Apple employ in the new iPhone?

I'm on GiffGaff so would be buying a phone direct from Apple, and the likelihood with them is that they won't have nano sims available for some time after launch (if they infact need them).

Someone suggested Apple could include a "blank" sim card with the phone and then somehow an operator could map your number to it, but that seems unlikely.

I'd imagine it'll be like when I get O2 to give me a micro-sim for my 4S and transfer my number over from the regular sim I had in my 3GS. I just ordered one off the site and activated - a few hours later it was all transferred, pretty painless.

The battery should be enough for the same battery life as the 4s if not better. Remember that while the will be a faster CPU and Gpu etc, it will be a 32 nm chip or smaller. I expect apple to provide the same battery life, even if the decide to use LTE. One thing I'm sure is they will again release the fastest GPU of any mobile phone in the market. They're leaders in that respect.

powervr 6 series arent ready yet

for next ipad they will be ready for sure but not for this iPhone

for this iPhone maybe but not sure a15 socket with 2 core 32nm and same power sgx543mp2 as 4s not mp4 as it will blow battery performance

but they maybe add 4core gpu but it will decrease battery life too much

But were looking at the sam battery life, or better depending on the SoC, but nothing really amazing if this is the actual battery.

Yeah, general usage times will be similar. Although gaming should see a nice improvement, unless...

Licensing for G6xxx started in January, it all depends on Apple's plans for openGL ES 3.0 gaming.
I hope Epic show off all those lovely ES3 effects during the keynote with Infinity Blade 3. ;)

sorry mate but it was announced but not released

also its needs some good A15 sock 32nm to be released together

both chips are designed in one chip so it needs realy good time

for iphone 5-6 how its called no rogue chip

but for new ipad we will get insane perfomance in 2013march

upgrading from the 4S to the 5 will be a waste of money.

There's not a big enough of a technology jump to notice any major differences.

Don't waste your money.

After a couple of CRU replacement 4Ss that have arrived in poor condition, one of the managers at my local store has said that he cannot get me another replacement, but can offer me a full refund if I want to take it; bit confusing, but I probably will. iPhone 5, here I come! The only concern are the nano-SIMs right now; I'm worried that giffgaff won't have them in time. If that's the case, I'll switch providers for a couple of months, most likely.

Definitely won't be going for the highest storage capacity though, as it turns out I basically never go past a few gigs as I've not been putting music on it. So will probably stick with the 32 or 64GB models.

Problem is, trying out new things is always tempting, so I'm thinking about going for a cheaper Android route (higher end HTC devices for example). However, I'm completely unsure whether or not I'll enjoy the experience...more than likely not :(

In before "cool story bro" ;)

If you want to try HTC, order yourself one sim free online. Try it out at home and if you don't like it - send it straight back!

lets hope that battery last a lot longer

I wouldnt not think so, the next phone is rumor'd to be slightly bigger in size so will take more battery, the SoC should be better with battery life so might balance out and the current battery is only a tiny bit bigger. However we will have to wait and see, personally I felt the 4s went backwards interms of battery life.

i have feeling that they will use a5 32 nm version found in ipad 2.4

that will last 30 more than current iphone 4s

also if they will add lte that chip will kill battery very fast

i am thinking of skipping this iPhone
