I could have gone PAYG on three and its £15ish quid a month but to be honest for me, the difference isn't enough to make me part with £600 on a phone in a single day.

Some of us pay £15 and less for our SIMO deals (and thats on 12month renewals) which make buying upfront cheaper and obviously much more flexible than pay monthly contracts...

Just walked in my local three store and done exactly this :)

and as someones stated above its not that much cheaper going sim free if you want a decent amount of call/txts/data and over the same time period. and im £511 better off in the short term.

and I can walk in on release day and pick it up :)

Yet they actually don't? The only benchmarks I've seen it win are ones optimised for older hardware.

Where are all of these benchmarks you speak of (preferably from a good source)?

I've already said that it is obviously going to be based on educated guesswork, as Apple haven't confirmed what is inside the A6.

I completely agree with you. I'm only discussing this in an attempt to educate someone who I believe is clearly mistaken.

As I said, I'm more interested in the SoC due to the power efficiency gains, which will directly impact the battery life - something most of us are very interested in.

I’m waiting until EE show prices and as soon as EE open up to customers I’m gonna go with them (well as soon as I get a PAC off O2) as 4G in London & Bristol is enough for me with it running on HSPA everywhere else. Will then make an informed decision between buying handset SIM free and getting SIM only contract (are they even gonna do them?) or getting it through contract with EE.

I just don’t see the point in signing a new Orange/T-Mobile contract today and then in a months time having the hassle getting a new price & length & SIM contract with EE. I’ll wait until you can get it straight on EE.

Plus I bought my iPhone 4 on launch day so remember the whole antennagate thing!

Agree, and this is what I'm doing this time around, it means I can sell the phone in 12months time if I so wish and as its an apple phone they hold their value very well unlike the samsungs which half in price.

I think I have made my mind up.

I'm buying the phone direct from Apple on the 21st using my interest free credit card I have. Which will allow me to spread the cost and not be tied into a 24 month contract and i can have the new iphone5s in a years time as well.

Regarding the sim/plan. I am going to get the three sim only nano deal for £15.90 and use that for the time being until EE networks show their cards for what their offering.
 
Not having any luck getting a nano sim from orange. Person i just spoke with is quoting 10 days before they will receive them, crazy!! Any one had more luck???

Wish I was in the same situation, but I just cant justify 4GEE due to my personal coverage not matching EEs. I was advised they arent doing SIMO from launch but more likely to do it next year. Hopefully by then coverage improves and other providers start rolling out 4G to compete, not that comfortable paying for the 'exclusivity' as no doubt that wont be cheap right now...

I think the networks have had nano SIM's for a while now, I'd probably just try my closest store where possible, they'll likely have some.

I'm very lucky with their coverage! I work (on placement year) in London, and I'm at Uni in Bristol... both of those two are cities they already had ready for testing. There's then the list of 16 they'll have by Christmas, but other than that you're out of luck :/
