iRacing

I am into my oval racing atm, what would you recommend being the next purchase from street stock ?

Good man, ovals give some of the best racing imo.

In the D class you've got the SK Modified and the Late Model (Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS), the SK is bar far the better to drive but it's nowhere near as popular, the Late Model is always popular and you should get official races on every slot.

Both of those use short tracks primarily, which is a very different style of racing to the 'NASCAR' level stuff at the bigger tracks, personally I prefer it but the main point is that a lot of cars you buy for Late Model/SK series are useless at the higher levels, however there is also a C-Class (I believe) Open Street Stock series, which may mean less content to buy but you'd need to get up to D 4.0 to race in it...

cheers mate.

I love and also prefer the short ovals, USA International.

Will take a look at these recommendations tonight.

Many thanks

Finally got myself a DFGT on the cheap! I played an hour or two the other day and man, this game is hard! It's incredibly fun, though. :D I feel like it'll take many hours of practice before I can even think about joining a race, but I'm willing to give it a shot.

Had a funny experience on carburettor cup. I qualified in 1st position and when we were all on grid the Americans were talking to each other. I tried joining in only to be met with one of them saying "Who are you and why are you talking?" in a sarky manner. I couldn't help but reply "I'm no one really. Just a British guy who's in front of you in an American based sport". That shut him up and made the others crack up.

Joined iRacing a month ago and its the best racing game I have played, recently bought the skippy and the car is so much fun to drive. Laguna Seca is a bit of a pain to drive around managed to get my times into the low 1:40's.
Feel free to add me Connor Henry.

I might set up my wheel for the first time in a while to join you guys if there is enough interest. I think most people play a bit later though so it might be better pushing it back a little.

Spils, with the G25 have you got the centreing spring enabled? I think it is by default and it sounds like it would cause what you're seeing...

Most people say to turn it off completely, personally I have it on but set to 15-20% for a very light force towards the centre

No mate first thing I thought of myself force =100% dampening =100% everything else to zero and unticked apart from in game adjustment.

Can you confirm with the spring set to zero the force goes off when not sat in the car ?
Weird Im 90% sure it used to go off soons I got out the car. then when I clicked drive it would stiffen up. I did just plug my new wheel into my old pc install which was near 5 years old so i could have had a corrupt driver for the whole time I was playing.

Any time is fine by me m8.

Would help if all those interested would post time place and car they want to drive but as it stands now its cars and track I suggested with time changed to 8pm.

I'd normally be up for it mate but busy this weekend, Enjoy driving with most the people here. Nice to see some flesh blood on the track also.

We should all defo set a date for a nice fun session. Maybe some of the pros like yourself and skill can help some of these new guys. Always amazes me to see the faster guys pushing on this game. Inspiring and makes me want to put in some extra laps.

PS how about dropping one of the open wheelers for the radical it needs all the support it can get. Drop the skippy for her :D
