iRacing

Just did a handful of laps each in the Radical (oulton w/brittens), Skippy (Summit full, last one I drove it at seriously) and the Williams (Suzuka)

Radical, been a whilst since I drove it properly, and no real setup, but it felt a bit better to me, more front end bite so no longer the 'need' to get it sliding, or so it felt. Didn't manage to get within 3s off my PB around there though so maybe just going too slowly :p

Skippy, a decent improvement in my book, got a lot more front end on it, without going back to the otm slideyness, me like. Oh, and managed a 1:21.6, my PB when I was practicing around here was a low 22 iirc

Williams, not got much to compare it to, but felt good, bit mental in the first 3 gears but I seem to recall that was always the case. The new wind/tyre noise is odd but not bad. Tyres felt ok, not sure if it's new but locked up a few times into the hairpin and still felt like I had control/knew what it was doing, but as mentioned been a long time since I drove this and then never properly...

yeah i just drove the radical, ive been test driving this a lot over the last week as i plan to do a season in it,its defo got a lot more front end grip now needed to tone that down abit.

it just feels faster aswell but that might just be me...

the star mazda now feels better and more alive to me...

the williams is mental now just knocked 1.5secs off my pb first full lap...awesome...

man i love this game...

proper good at 120hz aswell...

Had a run at Watkins Glen in the HPD i like the stiffer sidewalls of the NTM did a 1.31.5 with Russells set he posted on the forum.

Quick play in the Williams seems ok but i only used the iracing sets so cant really tell.

Been a pretty solid build release! Love the DP now, feels so much more planted. F1 also feels great but I am unsure with the Star Mazda. It might just need a setup tweak but it feels like its on water or ice. Got to love brake glow through :D

Roll on Daytona 2.4hr!

Would love 120hz but a few things are putting me off...

Cost
16:9 aspect ratio

In the early days, 120hz was much cheaper than it is now and you could get 16:10 displays.

For the same price as a decent 120hz monitor, I picked up a third second hand 22" and Radeon 6950 for eyefinity. Just hope it is worth it over not getting a larger 120hz screen :(

WFH today - so had a bit of a play in lunch break.

MAHOOOOOOSIVE improvement for me!

Tried the Radical on Oulton and the MX5 on Okayama Short... both have improved.

Biggest thing I noticed after a few balls-ups... they've significantly improved the off-track experience... no longer feels like you're on ice.

The Radical is improved, but needs tweaking - it's too tail happy... love the turn in though - although it feels a little bit over-sensitive around top-dead-centre to me.

The MX5 is much improved, feels understeery at first, but a bit of tweaking to the brake force curve dialled the worst of that out for me. I can finally drive the last corner like I would in real life, struggling with the first now though - slightly earlier braking point will probably help - just didn't play too much.

Maybe it's to do with the DX10 additions - but the sense of speed has improved too, still a bit meh - but definitely a slight improvement over before.

This also seems to have had a decent effect on the force feedback too... I can now feel what the tyres are doing which helps tremendously, can feel the flex in them like RF2.

All in all... good improvements IMO.

The hosteds dont show up now for me and i couldnt join my 6 hour host so sent a report to iracing.

The reply This seems to be a issue with Internet Explorer.can you try it with another web browser such as Chrome.Firefox or Safari ?

Well IE worked before the new build just fine and no mention of a refund either.

With the radical oversensitive/over-tail-happy, I agree with the first although I did learn to drive around it, it was tail happy but I kinda like that, a lot :D

But both I think can be sorted with setup, the defaults are never quite right :p

Even had it stepping out on the second corner (first after leaving pits)... the ~20-30 degree right hander... with foot to the floor... so much it span!

That, I know from experience, would never happen in real-life - could easily keep the radical planted through that corner.

The twitchyness near TDC is definitely something that you could adjust to - it's just another quirk that shouldn't be there IMO.

Slides are definitely a bit easier to catch too, which is nice - but I still can't drift the MX5 :(

All my driving in iracing has always been on stock setups (can't do anything else in rookie class though, it would seem)... I imagine things will improve drastically when I can tweak... although I'm still a noob at tweaking.

That's clearly not a corner :p I didn't have that though, I did have it step out through the first of the two right hand kinks (clay hill???) before druids, but not enough to make me lift and that was the worst place.

I'm far from an expert at the setups side of things, I'm happy with the Skippy level of just 4 settings + BB + Fuel, even with the Late Model that has a fair few more, but much above that and I'm a bit lost, just change things 'for a laugh' and see how it goes :p

Did some skippy practice around Okayama earlier, and just now some Radical practice around Watkins.

Skippy I think I need to tweak the setup a bit, just didn't click which was irritating.

Radical, wow, candidate for new favourite car now I've got a decent-ish setup on it, guy called Maurice Dietzel posted one on the forums, and damn it's fun :D :D Did a 1:05.6, which for the session was good but not a clue overall, but feels so much better, definitely gonna race a few times this season :)

Yes.

Noticed any difference?

not really mate if im honest, but saying that we had the update and all the cars i run have had the NTM so its hard to tell.

defo my fav car as i said above, im using the same setup,in my testing i got low 1.06's but only had a quick blast on practice with peeps as im going to do the jetta race tonight...

im defo doing the season in it...

I'm also loving the jetta.

had great first race around Daytona road circuit till some one spun on the first corner and decided to jejoin the race as I was approching the corner, as you can guess it didn't go well.

still fun tho I got back in the top 10 to 7th place...

the bodnar cable has defo helped me breaking...

but when I press the throttle or break full I have to press it quite hard to get the bar in the bottom left of the screen to go all the way up past the little black line??? if I just press it normal as I did before I have to press it a little bit extra hard...

I've calibrated it in windows and the game...
