iRacing

Well not the 10:30 race :p

Dunno now, got a few things I should really do, so probably not 12:30 but maybe sometime after that and probably doing 3-4 this afternoon/evening :)

2.30 was a great race even tho i span or went off track 5 times, caught back up each time..

my first few spins were trying to avoid kat as i was much faster than her in S1 and around spoon, when i did get past i built up a 11 sec lead, then locked my brakes into the chicane went to 1st too soon and span so she passed again.

still a awesome race obviously i never liked spinning i or going off but i loved catching back up...

so hard to get past peeps on the track tho and following someone that your faster than is hard as it leads to mistakes like i did...

still i gave 3rd away so im happy with my 4th place after an eventful race...

Yeah, looked like you had a fun race, I feel a bit sorry for David, one of those things but I tapped him really lightly from my perspective but it obviously caused quite a bit of damage to him, was looking to be a really good race for 2nd though I got alongside a couple of times but not quite enough.

After that it was kinda dull though, I tried to put in some quick laps to see if I could catch Kalle but unsurprisingly I could just about peg him when I did a very quick lap for me, so I gave that up and was 15 seconds and growing behind Kalle and 15-20 seconds ahead of you/Kat for the rest of the race, just trundling around.

But still, 2nd place, can't complain too much :p

It was amusing watching you/Kat on F3 though, or more just you catch up, even pass, and then drop back behind again to repeat it all again

im sure david knew you never meant it..

was a great race even with the offs as i had better pace than them all bar you and kalle so i could catch up and it was soo much fun doing so.

shes a stubborn racer tho she held her line very well and she never backed off, but she had a different line than me in some corners and it lead to me bailing out of the turn to try not hit her witch then lead to me spinning, cant complain i enjoyed it.

i got past a few times but i had the run on her in loads of laps but with the understeer from that set its hard to get a good late turn in so its even harder to pass round this tricky overtaking circuit...

Yeah, had the pleasure of having to pass her before, she's definitely stubborn which makes it good fun, she's also mental off the start line, takes no prisoners :p

It's hard to get past here, right at the start with David I was running wide like you say, I think you 'just' need to back it up even more and get a really good run through/out of the corner, maybe a bit easier said than done though.

But even ignoring the setup there's only really a 2-3 places where you can realistically overtake, and that takes either a mistake from the guy ahead or being massively quicker.

yeah i agree, still a massively fun track to race around tho, can get abit lonely if you on your own tho as its a long lap.

oulton park is gunna be interesting next week as im abit of a noob on the tack...

Had lots of practice now on my own and yeah, bit lonely :p, I find it quite easy to lose concentration as well and pick up the odd 1x (got 6 incs in the last race, 2 from the contact, 1 from prior to the contact trying to get a run, and 3 from just losing concentration when I was just trundling, was even going slowly aiming for ~58.0)

Oulton is great fun in the radical, although I do find it quite easy to get a 1x a bit like here, only bit for next week I haven't done (on both new and old tyre models) is the knickerbrook bit, iirc next week isn't using any of the chicanes so we'll be approaching that very quickly, be fun :)

2 top 5s in 2 races im happy with that.

ill have to put some proper practice in this next week for oulton, the tiny bit ive ran there it seems a good track...

i should be more prepared for next season as this is still my first season in the radical so its all new to me, but your kinda in the same boat with the NTM...

Yeah, good results, I'm a bit surprised that the race pace isn't a bit higher if I'm honest, when I was practicing and seeing lots of people in the low 56's and 55's I thought the races would be tough, but so far at least I've been legitimately fighting for podiums seemingly with ease...

I never really ran the radical properly on the OTM, did about 2/3rds of a season way back in the depths of time (2009 or 2010 iirc), and then the British Road Racing Tournament (around oulton) just prior to it getting the NTM. Next season should be good, I'm still learning and getting quicker with it, and more consistent over the race distance so a bit more of that and should be good.

Guessing you plan to run it again next season then? I think I am but not decided yet, guessing we might have the McLaren before then which will be interesting to try at least, and to see what they put it with.

Finally got fed up of being B class as well, doing some TT's to get my MPR for my A licence back, need to keep reminding myself not to push for a quick laptime :p

yeah ill be running it again defo, its my fav car on iracing as it stands.

i thought the mclaren was coming at the end of the year??

i do like the riley so i think next season i might run 2 series as im getting more confident with the more races i get under my belt...

I could be wrong but I thought they said that the RUF would be just after the McLaren in the queue, and that's due out in 'Fall', I kinda assumed that means the McLaren may be ready for the next build but thinking about it it probably won't be as the CTS-V is next.

So guess it's most likely it'll be CTS-V at the beginning of May, then the McLaren in the next build, and then for the last build of 2012? I wonder where the Lotus 49 is in that schedule tbh...

aye the RUF is in between the mclaren and the 49.

im quite interested to have a blast in the caddy, i think that it will be in a couple of different series as they have said that everybody can drive it as its free...

woohoo, a class again \o/ That's gonna change a lot ¬_¬ :p

The thing that really interests me about the caddy will be the promotions that go along with it, from all accounts Cadillac paid iRacing to put the car in and they intend to do a load of marketing alongside it, I wouldn't be too surprised if there's a series where the winner gets a fairly decent prize at the end, not that I stand any chance of winning it though :(

I also really want the Lotus 49, it'll do until they scan the proper '67 F1 car, the Eagle Weslake T1G :p

the 49 has no interest to me, now id love a 88 90 or a 91 mclaren f1 car...

i seriously want a BTCC car, ive not kept up with it for a long time, but the toca games were legendary for me and we as brits deserve 1...

edit congrats on the a class again, how did you loose it in the first place???

I'm not that fussed about BTCC tbh, I think the '67 thing is the many many hours of my life wasted playing GPL.

Anyway, onto the race, my god that's got to be my worst race in a long time, just plain awful and purely down to me :(

Really sorry GraveYard, both for the tap and kinda for spinning at the hairpin which seems to be kinda what caused the wheel damage in a round about way. The tap was the worst though, I knew I was braking later than you into there, and I knew I was close so I braked 'early' but not early enough, I was braking as hard as possible but just kept getting closer until that tap :(

I think I'll pass on the next race, and maybe the rest of the day, after that atrocity :p

EDIT: Just checked, 10 incidents and I only did half the race

dont worry josh, i knew my braking spot was earlier than yours i look for the tarmac or the orange bit of armco, but with this set i suppose im slightly earlier to try get a good turn in, i had messed up the harpin so i knew you would have the run on my and i was expecting you to come up the inside but never mind.

i never even felt simon touch me but my car was undrivable.

it was a disaster of a race full stop accidents every were.

shame as it was shaping up to be a great race..

EDIT- how did I get in front of you in the first place?

simon was proper annoyed by the end and rage quit after another massive pile up...

never mind bro this is racing and we've had 2 good ones today...

Sorry, only just seen your edit, been avoiding the forums most of the evening :p

You got ahead due to my first (of many) stupid mistake, I somehow managed to lose the back end in braking for the hairpin, went onto the grass on the inside and slid back out onto track, somehow not directly collection anyone.

I didn't watch the replay back but as I came back on I slid quite wide where Justin was, he then went off the track for some reason whilst I got it back in gear (at some point I selected neutral for some unknown reason), and got it going again. I lost a spot to both your and the italian guy I can't remember the name of, got him back after 130R and so ultimately lost just one spot to you for what could've put me (and one or more others) out of the race in the first few laps. little bit lucky :p
