Israel-Hamas war - Please do not post videos showing attacks/similar

Many of the prescriptions in this thread for Isreal to effectively walk on egshells come from the same kind of "comfort, safety, and security".

The atrocities against Isreal we witnessed this weekend are only a small sample of the threat Israel lives under. They are surrounded by neighbors that want to destroy them the moment Israel shows enough weakness.

What we saw this weekend from a group of terrorists that are anxious to meet their maker and think they will be rewarded for killing as many Jews as possible in the process, is nothing compared to what Israel will have to fight if the rest of their neighbors ever believe Israel can actually lose.

You talk as tho Israel has always been saintly and nobody has ever had cause to do anything but admire them and their virtuous, democratic, peaceful ways.

Maybe some of this is on Israel for some of the decisions they've made along the way.

e: You want us to believe that Israel will always be hated purely because they are Jews. Yet Jews and Arabs lived together in a single state for many years, without such insane violence. A bit like Pakistanis and Indians also managed to live together, before partition. Something about drawing lines on a map does seem to make people lose their minds.

But maybe there might be a tag more to it than Arabs simply wanting to kill all Jews. Excepting Hamas, who are admittedly too far gone, and probably do want that (now).

Guys don't try to find videos or pictures of hamas beheading babies, it's not worth it that **** will **** up your mental health and stick with you, don't ruin your life

As somebody who has lived through civil war and suffers from mental health issues because of it you are 100% correct. Some stuff you just can't unsee.

Sure, you can understand and empathise with the hatred,bitterness etc on both sides.
What you can't excuse is the slaughter of civilians.
And the active targeting of civilians with that very goal.

This can never be excused, no matter the circumstances.

This bombing of civilian areas in Gaza is quite extreme, we've seen the odd thing like it in Ukraine which has been met with absolute outcry, now its Israel and apparently its all ok.

As somebody who has lived through civil war and suffers from mental health issues because of it you are 100% correct. Some stuff you just can't unsee.

Same with the Ukraine stuff. I have no idea when anyone would want to seek it out, let alone view it.

I mean, we know how many soldiers get PTSD from the horrors they've seen. Why go anywhere near that stuff..

I guess there's the attitude in the middle east from us in the west "let them get on with it"

Even if there's going to be many many innocent casualties on both sides.

Some people are curious I think. Guy I work with is obsessed with all sort of sick videos on internet, his mental health is so bad now that nothing is helping him sort it out. Internet can be a dark place.
I stick to watching YouTube live feeds for coverage of this war, it shows damage that is caused but doesn't go into details of the suffering. Seen with my own eyes what suffering wars cause, don't need any pics or videos to back it up.

You're not going to get anywhere with that poster, who may well have an emotional connection to Israel.

Having thought about it further, and looking at the replies in the SC on volunteering if this was the UK then I would expect most of us to volunteer...

I like to watch nature videos. And before I knew it I was getting pushed some brutal stuff. People obviously setting up torture. Reported to Facebook, of course they did nothing about it. So I stopped viewing it completely.

It was clearly animal abuse.. And got the notification back "this doesn't go against our guidelines" even though animal abuse is on there as "not permitted" .

That should be a basic value of everyone, especially in a war.

From what I can see the story as come from an Israeli news channel i24 News. But the army unit they were reporting on saying they didn't see that. But the pro-Israel media lobby are all taking it as factual.

I think until we can see some evidence, or it's verified by a neutral party then we can't just assume something is true.

The story reminds me of the Iraq story about Iraqi soldiers taking viagra and carrying out disgusting acts. All lies.

The 9/11 comparison is also worrying as the US appeared to use it as an excuse to attack Iraq. Are we seeing this event used as a reason to attack Iran? If so it'll start a world war.

Yeap I left face book long time ago, when they didn't do nothing about children getting abused on there but were banning women for having pics of breastfeeding their babies.....that was enough for me. Same as twitter, you get some sick stuff on there as well.

Ignoring that certain sects of the muslim faith want to see the entire world subjugated under muslim rule and the eradication of all other faiths. You do know that Hezbollah believes that the destruction of Israel will usher in the messiah right?

They were caged up with someone shouting and laughing at them. It’s real and disgusting. Everyone should turn against Hamas especially Palestinians.
