''Seventeen British nationals, including children, are feared dead or missing in Israel after an attack by Hamas, Sky News understands...''

Do they think it through though? ISIS was very succesful in fuelling terrorism across the world, and even though thousands have died since then, the problem hasn't gone away.
ISIS was very successful in fueling terrorism across the Middle east and North Africa. Not sure I would say World in that.
I can only assume that Hamas did their attack in order to want Israel to retaliate so hard that other Muslim countries join the fight. They don't seem to care of the price that other people living in Gaza as to pay.

Doesn't Hamas realise China has Muslims in concentration camps and no Muslim country is retaliating, some are making economic deals with China.
Which again is terrible assumption that someone senior in Hamas surely should have realised if they had any level of sense. If there was any level of reality to that plan Eygpt would have opened safe corridors for people fleeing automatically at the Rafah boarder as soon as the hostilities started, the US, UN or other authority wouldn't have even had have ask.

? Israeli's shut down rafah exit with nearby shelling , egyptians are ok with humanitarian access.

other Arabic countries who are financing/hosting Hamas, not sure why people expect them to react openly, US probably trying to help on any 'we got him' opportunity there though,
and hamas will be plotting response elsewhere Israeli embassies and civilians abroad having been warned.

Half expect a Tiananmen type response if Israel invades Gaza.

The whole situation there is everything that is worst about humanity.

Awful violence, born of violence that will only create more violence.

What Hamas has done cannot be condoned in any sense. But what does Israel think will be the result of blockading Gaza and bombing it into last century?

Yup, it's the best recruitment program for Hamas you could imagine.

The cycle will simply repeat until someone stops and starts to talk instead.

It's just desperate.

"Gaza's power plant has shut down after running out of fuel, meaning there is now no electricity in Gaza other than what can be produced using smaller-scale generators."

There was a local journalist on LBC this morning and Nick Ferrari did push her a bit on whether she'd actually seen decapitated babies - she hadn't and largely repeated what she'd been told and didn't quite say beheaded babies - but butchered/burned she seemed more confident to confirm.

Does it matter? Well, if it were me, tooled up ready to go in, and it turned out babies were not beheaded - but 100s of my people are dead, then I'm hardly going to put the gun down. However, if the reporting isn't correct - and we've seen how a video clipped silenced portrays a very different picture when sound is included - it makes it harder to be able to take a side, as such. Neither side looks particuarly whiter than white over the years - although what is happening now has taken things past the point of no return for Hamas.

Only 28% support the two-state solution
53% support a return to an armed intifada, 47% support waging peaceful resistance, and 26% support a one-state solution
52% believe that armed action is the best way to end occupation

Well, we have certainly seen "armed action" in the past few days.
As interesting was something that possibly answers the question of Hamas support in Gaza. It seems to be a minimum 30%. (In the Gaza Strip, Abbas receives 30% of the votes and Haniyeh receives 65% of the 46% who would participate in such an election).

"Support for the formation of armed groups (like Lions Den and Jenin Brigade) increases in the Gaza Strip (79%).

No it doesn't otherwise we would still be fighting the Germans and the Japanese.

You just need to beat them into a state that they'll not even think to pull the same kind of crap for a couple generations at least.

@michaelh992

I did very much hesitate to post this. But given the astonishing debates and discussions about whether children were killed and how, I did decide to post this. On the source: South First Responders is a group of emergency personnel who are identifying corpses - something I have verified.

''Seventeen British nationals, including children, are feared dead or missing in Israel after an attack by Hamas, Sky News understands...''

This is the real problem for Hamas. Killing Israelis is something the international community can shrug off as par for the course. But killing foreign citizens will bring a whole new level of rage.

Another reminder that socialists are all to often evil degenerates.

although the NVA and Viet Cong were not adverse to targeting civilians and commiting atrocities themselves the Tet offensive targeted mostly military targets and civilian command targets not 'soft' targets like music festivals full of un armed civilians.

I'm just saying we need to be careful about spreading false information.
Disinformation is required to frame the next steps. They've already started with the human shield narrative as an excuse for the bombing of civilians. Sky news falsified a quote from the Palestinian ambassador with no repercussions.

Would be nice to live in a media age where all acts of violence are denounced and international law is upheld but that will never happen while narratives come before truth and consistency

The single power station in gaza has run out of fuel.

just so happens its powered by diesel...

Likelihood hamas has been pinching diesel to mix with ammonia nitrate (fertiliser) to create explosives?

Hamas should know that there will not be any negotiation...Israel is overthrowing Hamas and despite lip service, have essentially written off the hostages. They will attempt rescue where they can but are operating under the assumption that they are all dead.

This is what irks me why not try to rescue them before kill own hostages in air strikes, there been no known videos of mass killing of hostages yet for ones based in Gaza and there a lot of international hostages in mix.

I understand it a difficult and complex situation but surely a ground invasion would be better or getting International special forces involved.
