it will be a nightmare, Hamas will likely be plain clothed and hiding in rubble, holes, tunnels, peoples houses, in trees, all over the place.

using civilians and civilian buildings as shields.

killing one Hamas fighter will likely he very costly and no doubt there will be IED`s all over the place.

Why Israel have said it going to be a long war not easy.

So can someone please explain what Israel are supposed to do to prevent their infant children getting beheaded in cold blood?
Not threaten the children of the other side:
Nearly half of Gaza's population is under the age of 18, and the rising death toll poses a children's rights crisis in the strip, where 2.3 million live in a roughly 140 square mile stretch of land about the size of the city of Philadelphia.
Atrocities do not justify more in retaliation. No matter how evil hamas may be, the threat of letting ~1million palestinian children suffer and/or die (not to mention people overall) seems just as evil.

There is no easy answer, as this is a long running war, and both sides of 'power' want the other wiped out, with the general population caught in the middle.

Why have they not voted Hamas out

No voting since 2006
Why haven't we voted the Tories out ? :D

Also, you don't get to vote out terrorists:
Hamas has been in power in the Gaza Strip since 2007 after a brief war against Fatah forces loyal to President Mahmoud Abbas, the head of the Palestinian Authority and Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).

Gaza may become the new Bakhmut

What the Israeli government are doing now is a vile crime against humanity. This is not the way to achieve peace and you don't get to look like the good guys by committing ever greater atrocities.

Peaceful nation

Nothing about a ceasefire, nothing about we are sorry or lets negotiate, it's just genocide Jews this genocide some more Jews that

The leader and founder of Hamas, Khalid Mashal, called for jihad against the Jews.Mashal gave a speech in which he called on Muslims around the world: "Express anger", especially next Friday, in Muslim countries and among the Muslim diaspora around the world.

Provide financial assistance to the movement — "financial jihad", Put political pressure on Muslim leaders and Muslim countries to stop Israel's military invasion of the Gaza Strip; fight against the Jews, and the Muslims in the countries bordering Israel (Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt) — to go to the borders and "try to enter, each in his own way" in order to "shed his blood on the land of Palestine.""

The time has come when jihad must be practiced on the ground, not just in theory. We are asking for your blood and souls," Mashal said.

This whole thread is an absolute stain on humanity.
The stain is partly on us, too, for our part in the failure to bring about a two state solution and a just and lasting peace.

Let us also remember that we were instrumental in drawing the borders that fomented this conflict through our ignorance and lack of care.

It's a moot point anyway, because (a) Fatah was forced out of Gaza by Hamas years ago, and (b) the majority of Palestinians in Gaza support Hamas. Even if there was an election, Hamas would win by a landslide.

You can bring a horse to the water, but you can't force it to drink and if it doesn't drink it will die. That's Palestine, they were offered statehood and land from Britain and UN, they refused and said they will rather die in jihad to genocide Jews

That's overly simplistic. The land they were offered was an insult and not the basis for a viable state.

The only real hope was in the '90s with Clinton, Rabin and Arafat actually getting somewhere, but then a Jewish extremist assassinated Rabin because they didn't want peace or to compromise and it was downhill from there.

Once evidence was actually presented to the USA during the 1942 (especially towards December), of tyhe Extermination Camps, the State Department refused to help, even the idea of a homeland within the USA ; even going as far as blocking the mass escape plan, in exchange for lorries

We can't assume this, Hamas have brought them a lot of death and violence and they have hardly cleaned up corruption, fixed the economy and improved security (their promises and policy platform in the 2006 election, there was nothing about doing what they are doing now). The fact they can't vote to end their suffering is a democratic and moral outrage.

This whole thread demonstrates what humanity is. Humans are not all the same and do not hold the same values. Often, they then fight to decide who is 'right'.
There does seem to be a lack of recognition that cultures, countries, peoples can and do have mutually exclusive ways of living, laws and beliefs. Sometimes so different that violence will ensue when one side tries to impose their ways on another group. This is where the idea that totally different cultures can coexist in the same space, we used to call them countries. When it comes to religious doctrine deciding laws and server punishments for opponents, subjugation of women or treatment of LBGT people vs western liberal values the two can't exist at the same time in the same country.

I'd like to see a live and let live policy and if people want to move to or leave certain countries we'd soon see which was more popular. Great in theory except most of these harsh regimes would lose a large number of their people overnight and other countries would be overwhelmed. As has happened in the West the people need to sort out their own countries until they have a regime they are happy with. Too much interfering in other countries business just prolongs the problem. Look how long it took Europe to become peaceful.
