It will stop how it always stops when the casualties in Gaza get too high and the international pressure becomes too much for Israel.

About the same as a lot of "christian" solidarity tbh, national interest and different sects are as likely to fight each other as anyone else much of the time and they may only really work together when it's in their own interest.
From my very limited understanding the Palestinians have been utterly mucked about repeatedly by the neighbouring arab states who have tended not to want them moving into their countries, and have found them very handy as a way to cause Israel problems by encouraging them to attack etc.

That's because when they do they cause chaos. Just look at Black September, when the Palestinians decided to try and overthrow the legitimate government of Jordan that had taken them in and given them citizenship.

Possibly somewhat internal politics as well - I've not bothered keeping abreast of it but the top political entities in Israel are split between different lines of thought some having more idealistic leaning towards trying more peaceful approaches to Palestine, etc. and others more hardline which might have muddied the response with ideologies one way or another blinding them, or even letting it play out somewhat with the intention of "teaching" those more inclined to pacifism.

Few hours ago IDF dropped leaflets in Gaza city asking all civilians to move to Southern Gaza Strip, Israel has also notified the UN and told the UN it needs everyone to move South within 24 hours.

Bibi knew perfectly well Hamas is up to a big attack, but he either stays in power or goes to jail. After 5 elections in 3 years and with the last government being a total failure, escalation of the conflict was his only hope to form a working government and win the next elections.

This is a lot more nuanced than I'd expected. I thought Israel would ask them to leave Gaza entirely, but they're only asking for a relocation to the south of the territory.
