I noticed the UN personnel immediately relocated out of Gaza City when they received the warning.

Gave themselves a nice headstart.
Don't blame them considering several UN aid workers have already been killed by air strikes.

What should Israel do then? People posting in criticism should add what they would do instead.

Israel has to eliminate Hamas; anything less would not be tolerated. If the same thing happened to any other country, they wouldn't tolerate it either.

It's so easy to post general vague comments about the people of Gaza and their plight, and on a human level yes it's all terrible, but specifically and tactically, what should Israel do?
Not a lot else they can do really, they've given a warning, its not like they have to travel hundreds of miles.

Sky news:
The United Nations has said is it "impossible" for Palestinians to move to the south of Gaza in the next 24 hours, after citizens were ordered to evacuate by Israel's military.
I'd take what the UN with a pinch of salt. Apparently Rwanda isn't safe, according to the UN, for the UK to send people to Rwanda whilst the UN are sending refugees there themselves. Lots of politics being played and politicians aren't known for their honesty.

As I already suggested they could open a humanitarian corridor and allow the UN to build a refugee camp for the displaced with adequate water and food supplies before they raise Gaza city to the ground which seems to be the aim? The IDF have had decades to plan this operation they even built a mock Gaza city to train their troops complete with tunnel networks so you’d like to think they had come up with a better option for the civilian population than an impossible evacuation order?

Talk of eliminating Hamas is just silly unless the Israeli government is prepared to essentially raise the whole of Gaza to the ground, decimate the population and then occupy the area indefinitely they won’t succeed it is an impossible task and I’m not sure even the US government will stand by and watch an act of genocide committed by one of it’s allies. No I can’t offer a solution because sadly there isn’t really one given the entrenched positions of both sides of the argument and the years of hate and killing that have already passed.

You are equating two different things but then that doesn’t entirely surprise me.

Hamas has already replied that the leaflet message to get out of Gaza city was "fake propaganda" designed to "sow confusion". They've urged Gazans to ignore the leaflet evacuation message.

Imo - it would be safer for Gaza city ppl to follow the evacuation notice.

Someone might want to give them a history lesson about Japan at the end of the 2nd world war.

Although, presumably Hamas actually want Palestinians killed as it helps their cause...

They don't need to do anything - they have provided a warning. Its not like they are going to go street to street setting people on fire and beheading babies etc..

It's up to the Palestinian authorities as to what they do or don't do to protect their citizens - they started this war and are responsible for its consequences.

I expect that's exactly what they are going to do, and use the open area in the north around Beit Hanoun to build a refugee camp. They're not letting them into Israel, that's for sure. And nobody else wants them at the moment.

The Israeli government are going to level Gaza.

UK going is pointless with US carriers already there. It's a token gesture and good practice for the sailors. Standard for overseas engagement tbh, we don't have enough military to do anything meaningful abroad.

Indeed. It's big bro and mini-me. It's a show of flags, nothing more. The Americans bring the guns, we bring the popcorn.

Indeed. They should be forced to do that all the time. Except when I want them to do different.

The BBC always pick the wrong hill to die on - this will just be another nail in the licence fee's coffin - the incompetence is just staggering.

Hamas are a prescribed terrorist group in the UK - that is a fact - describing them in any other way is simply a lie.

And they conveniently forget that Hamas did worse last Saturday. But, of course, that indiscriminate killing was forced upon them by the evil West.
Confused by this so apologies if I am missing the point.

Are you basically saying that Hamas did worse last Saturday than what happened in Bucha? If so it's much the same and really, shouldn't be "spitting hairs" here.
