A British citizen is missing after the Hamas attack on the desert rave. A note from Reuters on this page:

Amazing how Israel have been caught asleep quite so much, in an area where there has always been conflict.

Having seen some of the videos I can’t say I have much sympathy for the resulting response.

Sounds like all the reserves are being called up, Israelis are ******, even those exempt are volunteering. It’s going to get very messy. Some have used 9/11 as an analogy, just this time proportionally more people were killed and up close too.

Having worked with some Israelis they'll no doubt be up for it, they had all done military service.
I have a few Jewish friends in London, anti Nerenyahu government and have always been live and let live types.
Talking to them last night it was basically 'kill them all' which doesn't bode well for the people in Gaza.

Should have asked Hamas the day before the attack, they knew exactly what the response would be. Now they will reap what they sow (well, innocent civilians will anyway)
I should probably step back from the news, it's ******* depressing.

Oh of course. It's awful. And I have no idea what they were thinking. It's clear they're just making a point. Typical cutting off nose to spite their face.

I guess when you're desperate you don't think clearly.

Either way innocents on both sides are being dragged into things that they shouldn't have to endure.
Who was it that said, "Give my liberty, or give me death!"

He was a terrorist/freedom fighter/hero/villain (delete according to viewpoint).

As @Freefaller subsequently said, people in Gaza are prisoners. Denied basic rights, medicines, freedom of movement, etc, etc.

Perhaps many feel as Patrick Henry did, that life without freedom was worse than death.

I wonder if it's because it was the sabbath, and a Jewish holiday, and maybe complacency over the peace talks going on?
That murdered girl in the back of a pick up was at a peace festival near the border apparently so they certainly weren't expecting an attack. :(

Well I doubt the people of Gaza are in a better position now than they were before the attack. Unless of course they really do look forward to meeting their 'god'
IDF will be along shortly to help them on their way. It'll take a while for the bloodlust to abate I reckon.

Nothing quite like seeing your fellow women and kids murdered and paraded in the streets to unite a divided country.

Israel has already cut their electricity and ultimately the whole area will be cut off from civilisation, more so than it already was.

Well what's worse? Being in a hopeless situation with no prospects of ever living a decent life (for you or your children), watching people suffer and die around you for no good reason, or being shot dead and hoping that the next life (which they believe in) might be a whole lot better.

By all accounts, life in Gaza is a living hell and has been for years.

Patrick Henry was a combatant in a legitimate war of independence. He did not commit any acts of terrorism, and did not belong to a terrorist organisation.

The blockade only exists because Hamas became the new government and killed or forced out any Palestinians who refused to support them. Fatah and the Palestinian Authority security forces fled Gaza in the face of overwhelming violence from Hamas.

In response, Egypt and Israel closed their borders to Gaza.

Gaza is a living hell because Hamas turned it into one.

Paradise compared to what’s coming.

Apparently 400 Israeli people killed, and the IDF are still battling in 8 areas to regain control.

A huge embarrassment for Israel, people on mopeds riding in and stealing tanks, shooting civilians, taking potshots.

What a complete mess
