The announcement was made by the spokesman of the Qassam Brigades in audio released Monday night.
Abu Obeida claimed the group had, until now, been acting in accordance with "Islamic instructions" by keeping the Israeli hostages safe.
However, he blamed the group's intended move to execute the hostages on Israel's stepping-up of air strikes on Gaza City.
"We have decided to put an end to this and we declare that any targeting of our people in their homes without prior warning will be regrettably faced with the execution of one of the hostages of civilians we are holding," he said.

I suspect Israel might have already written off the hostages, chances of any of them getting out alive must be very small.
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure going round peoples houses killing families and hundreds of young people at a music concert is illegal too.

I'd like to think there would be some negotiation to get their hostages back, and let civilians leave before they go in, but I'm not sure they are in the mood.
It's a strange mindset to attack a country that can summon up 100's of thousands of trained soldiers. I still think they have screwed up massively and really did believe they would be getting help from other groups.

The IDF have said Hamas leaders aren't even in Gaza, they are hiding away safely in places like Quatar. I remember years ago when Mossad used to send death squads around the world after terrorist leaders, wouldn't surprise me if we see that happening again over the next few years.

IF the baby thing is true, and I really,really hope it isn't, then anything the Israelis have done up to now will pale into insignificance.
