I've done it - I'm half the man I used to be.

Here's a question I'd love an answer to - how do you feel with the weight gone? Do you feel happier, have more energy etc?
I've got absolutely no energy, and since putting on more weight have felt pretty ****. :(

Yes you will feel like you have more energy if you are more active but it won't happen overnight. When you first start to exercise you will feel pretty bad after living a sedentry lifestyle but your body will soon adapt and it will get easier and easier the more you do it.

You don't have to do hard exercise to lose weight, walking is enough. Why not take the first step today, start off small and increase it week by week.

Well done - I've been trying to do this since I was 17 - but have always found a distraction and given up (I'm 25 now).
I'm going to try again using your method - we'll see what happens. :)

If I manage it, I'll buy you a low-carb beer. :p

Simple really, calories in must be less than calories out and you will lose weight.

Use something to track your calorie intake and it will make a huge difference.

Myself personally have been at it for 41 days and have lost 11kg (24.2lbs) but I also go gym twice a week and do weights 3 times a week.

In my experience, bread and cheese are the things to kick when trying to lose weight. Bread is just empty carbs and there are far better sources, whilst cheese is brilliant nutritionally but absurdly calorific so it can easily tip your calorie intake over the edge.

Cutting out Alcohol will also help massively!

But OP, you are an inspiration to others who want to lose weight - well done!

You've got to do one of those photos with an old pair of trousers holding the waistband to show how much of a difference you're waist size is - powerful motivation to others!

Kudos to you mate.

Thanks to the posts in reply to mine - I currently go to the gym a few times a week for swimming only, and occasionally do a good 2-3 mile walk.
I'll crack on with a bit more, and hopefully in a few months I'll see a difference.

Thanks again, especially Feek. :)
