January Transfer Window 2010/2011 Season Rumours/Signings

I'd hazzard a guess that I speak to more Liverpool supporters than you and I've not heard 1 say we'll win the league next year. Don't worry though, I'm sure you're not making it up.

I know its not a big story

but Muntari has signed for sunderland to the end of the season. clause to buy hopefully if its anything like the rest of our deals

Because you haven't heard one say it, means it doesn't exist? Fab.

A few pages back someone said;

'A few more buys in the summer and we'll be challenging next year under Kenny :D :D :D'

I'm sure you'd agree that's a bit rash.

Every team has embarassing supporters, one pipes up and we all get tarred with the same brush :(

Indeed - and that's the life of a football supporter.

Unfortunately banter on this forum often doesn't go down well and a slap and a tickle's like murder.

Back to transfer news;

With VdS retiring at the end of the season now confirmed, we've been touted to be taking a look at bringing in a replacement in the summer.

Personally I'm not too clued up on all the foreign GKs -

Anyone know anything more on Neuer, Adler & De Gea?

Adler has an apparent clause in his contract just for United as he's a support but a bit iffy on that.

I've heard that too but not convinced at all. De Gea is unbelievable tekkers but seems the sort of player to never leave Spain :(

Is Lindegaard just not very good by all accounts then?

Adler has said himself he is a life long United supporter. We'll see.

From what Eric Steele (GK Coach) said -

Amos is rated a lot by him and also by SAF. He is only 20 also, has been sent out on loan to get more experience.

In his words, PIG has down well when called upon.

Andres was brought in early to have some time playing with VdS and to get to know the others.

He said that we're looking at possible suitors for the summer externally and if that doesn't happen we'll look inside.

So it could be that we sell PIG and buy someone, or that Andres, Amos & Kusz fight it out.

Personally I think we'll sell PIG, buy a new No.1 that might be a bit older, and have Andres as No.2 for now.

i would love carrol at spurs but not at that price. we've shot ourselves in the foot going in that high

apparently niko is going to bremen, shame really he is a good asset, o'hara really should move to wolves and keane to west ham would be nice too.

Rooney, Tevez and now Torres. Is this the year of the ungrateful fans favourite?

Its the problem with the "Super Striker" I suppose.

When Teams play a 4-4-2, and have a balanced side,in extremely simplistic terms if one of them wants to go, you are only looking for the "tap in guy" or the "fast guy" or the "tall guy who can get on the end of a hoofed ball up front".

With the super striker, the guy who plays up front on his own, who scores most of your goals, creates most of your goals, the guy you depend on for everything, when he decides he wants to move on, your whole team falls appart, your whole playing style changes, the primary focus of the fans addoration has spat in their face and decided he has had enough.

No player should be bigger than the team, but its getting to the point where some of them are, without Tevez City are not even a credible top seven side, without Rooney even when he isnt scoring he is getting a load of assists, United look absolutely toothless, without Torres over the past 3 seasons, whos to say where liverpool woulf of been.

Its part of the problem of throwing all your eggs in one basket, Rooney wants £200,000 a week or he is off, see you later Wayne, theres the door, we just need to find another half decent striker to slot in up front.

Infact, the most crazy fans on this forum are usually the United ones that drive me up the wall - and I support them.
i don't often come in here, so i know you don't mean me ;)

Finding it hard to actually dislike Torres especially after watching - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1osDX1qlSlI
.
i actaully rate Torres as a person, he is one of the top players in the world, and playing for a team, thats not even in the CL and to be frank, has had better days. He has showed enough loyalty already, time to jump a sinking ship imo. (just a shame its not to us :p)

very good point

sunderland have also signed Stephane Sessegnon from PSG...really looking forward to seeing this guy, he looks really tricky and is the sort of player we have been missing for years

lloks to me as ifBruce isn't going to try to replace Bent in this window and is going to play gyan up front by himself (which he does for ghana) and he bought a couple of top quality midfielders to support him, then he will get in a striker in the summer when the prices are not so crazy
