January Transfer Window 2010/2011 Season Rumours/Signings

It would be a 4-3-3 with Suarez taking Kuyt or Maxi's place.

Not posted this because there was some doubt over how true it is but Guillem gave an interview on a local radio station today where he claims that Torres's transfer request was wrote up earlier this week as Torres was unhappy over the lack of progress in the Suarez deal but his agent only submitted it yesterday, after the Suarez deal was agreed.

Could very well be BS (what Balague said, not whether he said it) but raises a lot of questions about his agent if true.

@Robert: I'd imagine he'll be available to play against Stoke on Wednesday.

Confirmed on Jim boardman twitter as false.

The guy that carried out the interview - Liverpool's pitch side announcer who works for BBC Radio Merseyside - has confirmed it.

The interview did take place and Balague did say those things. But like I said to begin with, Balague could be talking ****.

Somebody's lying then. What Balague was reported to have said has been confirmed by quite a few people. Maybe it's a case of chinese whispers and what he did say has been twisted.

Agents don't get paid the money they do for being idiots. Torres' agent wouldn't submit a transfer request unless it was 100% ok with Torres.

Agents make their money by engineering transfers. Torres stays, his agent gets nothing. Torres leaves, his agent could earn anything up to £5m.

What's being questioned isn't whether Torres agreed to the transfer request but the timing of when his agent handed it in. It could very well be complete bs but anything is possible with football agents these days.

Three top class players, and one distinctly average player who has scored a couple good goals. I know the three I would pick. Liverpool have picked up a very good player in Suarez, I got a feeling he will be a Bergkamp, or Van Nistelrooy in terms of his success in transferring from the Dutch league. More than slightly annoyed Spurs didn't go for him, and instead Harry seems intent on an overrated player in Carroll.

Is the Dutch league as strong as it was 10 to 15 years ago?

Is he even half as good as Bergkamp or Van Nistelrooy?

The answer to both of those is no, he is a good player, but is he a £23 million pound Premier league goal machine?

I'm not so sure.

Looking at his international record as a gauge of how he is likely to fair, well, you can see for yourself. 38 apps, sixteen goals, 8 of which he has scored against just two teams.

I would be massively surprised if he knocks in half as many as RvN did or if he is half as influential as Bergkamp was.

Yep, not sure on his attitude, there's a chance he will take to the league badly, but he definitely has talent and is determined to adapt then he will come good eventually.

So in the paper today United are linked with:

Charile Adam
Alex Chamberlain
Jordon Hendersen
De Gae

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest they are all rubbish.

"It is important for anybody to go to such a big club. It is a great opportunity for me."

Suarez added: "It is a beautiful club. Everybody wants to play there. They always play Champions League or Europa League and belong to the top four clubs in the Premier League."

Quotes by Suarez on Skysports so judging by that seems he will still come regardless of Torres situation which is good though i hope the Torres situation is resolved.

The only way it should be done if he has to go today or tommorow has to be £50Mil + Anelka not Sturridge or any of their younger players imo, If Torres is still here come Stoke`s game his reception will definatly be an intresting one
