January Transfer Window 2010/2011 Season Rumours/Signings

Completely understandable about him wanting to leave to win things. Although i'm struggling to get my head around the idea of Chelsea and leaving it till 3 days before the window slams shut. If he's worried about the clubs direction surely the Luis deal for £22.8million should show him that we are going to spend.

Hmmpph!

It's taken NESV the whole of the transfer window to land 1 player.

If they'd signed Suarez & Adam in the first week or so, rather than putting in lower than expected offers that would get laughed at - and did - then this might not have happened.

Yeah lets be a club everyones willing to ask ridiculous money for or play hardball and not get ****ed over, if Torres can't see that he is just being silly, we aren't man city, nor do many people aspire to be.

To be fair, Chelsea put in a bid a lot earlier than that, it was Torres that asked Liverpool to listen three days ago.

I think this has only gathered speed since it became apparent that the signing of Luiz was off then Chelsea turned their attention to Torres again. s
Sounds like the decision makers have a budget and after the Luiz deal fell through they inquired about Torres and he was still up for it so they pursued it.

The trick now is to let him go, and then go on over the course of time to make him regret the decision, to do something which makes him sit and watch and think, damnit, wish I had stayed and been a part of that. Hard to do, but not impossible.

Maybe he wants his club to be a 'Man City' with prospects for the future & a chance of winning things, after all he's good enough to play for a big team now.

Or this was planned between Chelsea and Torres. By leaving it so late they hope to pressure Liverpool into lowering their demands and/or make it as difficult as possible for other clubs to react.

Well, Liverpool, within the past few months have been rescued from financial disaster by NESV. We also have with in the past few weeks appointed a new manager, and Commoli. So that was always going to take time to gel.

After the situation we have been in, the fans at least appreciate the cautious approach.

+1

It looks like selling took priority. Babel was sold before we've signed anyone. You say land 1 player, to my knowledge that still hasn't happened.

You're far too loose, I bet you believe in the NWO too.
Deals aren't planned like that as that would rely on it not being leaked is paramount & that never happens, ever.

Of course deals work like that. We had a very similar situation with Mascherano and Barca. We all knew he wanted to go but it got to a point where it was looking like there was no serious interest and he was going to stay then just before the window Barca pop up and we were pressured into doing a deal that wasn't on our terms.

I'm not suggesting this has been planned months ago but certainly by the turn of the year.
