January Transfer Window 2010/2011 Season Rumours/Signings

I hope Evans never plays again. He just does nothing right.

:(

Personally think you (and a lot of other Utd supporters) should read a recent article from RoM for a little JE perspective

http://therepublikofmancunia.com/some-perspective-on-jonny-evans/

(pretty accurate article if you ask me)

He hasnt had a great 12 months (and it wouldnt be the first time SAF ditched a good player too soon if it does happen) but he is still very young indeed - for all we know at the moment 2011/2 could be a disaster for Smalling (I hope not, but its a possible) and JE could come out of the slump he has been in and become a real winner again (as he has been in the past for Man Utd, which I really hope happens)

I would love Cahill to come to the club (its not going to happen for many reasons) but he would be the ideal backup for Vidic and Rio while the youngsters get a bit more consistancy in cup games etc (and I still doubt Rio will play majority of 1st XI games he is eligable for) ............

No do not want him anywhere near our squad, everywhere he goes he is either unhappy himself or unsettles team mates.

Besides City wouldn't off load him, even just for a loan to the main rivals for the 4th spot. There were plenty of takers for Craig Bellamy in the Prem, but he went to Cardiff instead for this reason, and not because he wanted to go his "local" club.

i think he'd be great to have from january to the end of the season, him, vdv and bale would be an incredible force and he can help us bury games that we have been unable to in the past. with a loan deal we can get rid of him easily if he rocks the boat

Bearing in mind that I completely agree we could probably do with a solid, fearsome defensive mid, now that Song has decided he is the next Messi, I love how you continue to complain about our lack of wingers, as though a team that's scored 55 times in 22 games is having trouble with their attacking.

Would you care to explain where one has anything to do with the other? I mean, really, firstly did I say we had trouble attacking, no I didn't, I said we had no wingers, can you see how that arrangement of different words doesn't mean the same thing?

Secondly, scoring 55 times in 22 games is all well and good, but..... hmmm, other teams have scored more goals, and those teams are ahead of us........

Are you suggesting because we've scored goals, at whatever rate we've scored them(slower than last year of course when we won..... hmm, can't seem to remember the name of those cups we won last year), we can't improve and score more goals, and do better, I mean is that really what you're trying to suggest, because if it is, some people might just consider that to be a rather moronic thing to say.

Anyway, thats before we get to our performances against say the top 6, where, we lose, slower guys without that killer pace might still get you goals against less good teams, but a better out and out winger, with that real pace(and ability to pass, cross, shoot and not be a big girl which obviously rules Theo out) might be the difference between say, Chelsea spanking us, and us scoring a few more against the best teams and getting some points.

We've scored 32, in 15 in the league, and we're 3rd, do you think had we scored more, with better players, in a year Utd/Chelsea have thrown away a tonne of points, we might not be leading the league? No, you're right, we don't want to score MORE goals, what a ridiculous idea :rolleyes:

unfortunately those rolleyes don't look nearly sarcastic enough with the xmas hat on to express what a truly epically stupid thing you are saying is. More goals, bad I'll remember to bring that up in every relevant and non relevant situation in the future as you like to do to everyone else.

Arsenal lose 2-3 to Spurs, but Weebull says, more goals, bad.

By the way, Bolton have scored 4 whole goals less than us, and are a not insignificant 6 points behind us, a few extra goals goes a LONG way. Better players, more goals, more wins, more points, less never winning anything all to me seems like a good idea, crazy little me.

Man U linked in a entirely preposterous 20 million pound left back move for Fabio Coentrao.

Two things wrong with that:
1- 20 million pounds.
2- left back.

Presumably 'papers' is used as a rather loose term? ;)

Well, yes it is. Its quite believable though that you might need that sort of money for 3 players of the quality of Giggs/Scholes were when they were younger.

I'm not sure Man Utd could stump up quite that much for players and I bet it will depend largely on where we finish in the league too.

I reckon about 60 mill at the most or maybe a little more if you get far in Europe.

I haven't read the thread, how many Arsenal fans want Shay Given in? :p

Id be surprised if Wenger made any signings in Jan....pretty sure i read somewhere that hes happy with the squad he has at the moment:(...which basically means we wont win FA this season :/...well maybe the Worthless aka Carling cup if we are lucky.

If you **** up the Carling Cup I'll be impressed.

Papers say fergie has got 100 mill to spend to find replacements for giggs, scholes and a new striker.

I am sure Sneijder will be linked with them over the next few weeks. Rafa is working his magic and already has the CL winners and 5 in a row side 10 points of their city rivals. And of course if the papers make up a story about UTD trying to buy them it will also give them a free story of City trying to steal UTD's target- two stories for the price of one!
