Yay, Wenger doesn't want to buy in January. The fact that Chelsea before that last game were 8 points down on last year at the same point, and we still don't look particularly competitive while everyone above us floundered, Utd didn't lose but they drew a stupid number of games at the start, Chelsea have lost 3 times at home is it, and we're still absolutely nowhere.
Not a single actual winger at the club, keeper is clearly in over his head, some good games, a VERY slim chance he might up his game in the future but wouldn't hurt to have a world class keeper at the club for him to learn from rather than Almunia.
Kos looks an error prone mess to be honest, Squillaci doesn't look bad but long term good enough, not sure yet, Verm is the only great CB we have, we need another great one. DM's, wingers, keeper a CB and sell Denilson, Diaby, Sagna, Djourou, Almunia, Theo.
Frankly, Wenger just needs to go, I think any other top manager would sell off all the players I listed and buy competant replacements capable of winning a title. The way its going for Wenger, he had 6-7 outstanding years, its now 6 years of utterly underachieving with a squad now completely incomparable in quality to the invincibles. He either goes now with still a pretty decent record on average, the longer he stays, the worse his overall record is, and eventually we'll fire him, rather than him leave now with some of his reputation still intact, maybe move into a youth setup, scouting, director type role. If in 3 years we fire a guy who took the only ever premier league unbeaten team, and turned it into a 7-8 year win nothing run, well, he'll be a joke at that point.

Bearing in mind that I completely agree we could probably do with a solid, fearsome defensive mid, now that Song has decided he is the next Messi, I love how you continue to complain about our lack of wingers, as though a team that's scored 55 times in 22 games is having trouble with their attacking.

No do not want him anywhere near our squad, everywhere he goes he is either unhappy himself or unsettles team mates.
Besides City wouldn't off load him, even just for a loan to the main rivals for the 4th spot. There were plenty of takers for Craig Bellamy in the Prem, but he went to Cardiff instead for this reason, and not because he wanted to go his "local" club.
