Shawcross to united/Juventus £20 Mill

Lots of rumours on stokes Message board about a deal to go to united for £17 million and for what ever reason £20 mill plus a player from Juventus.

For any united fans he is a MUCH better defender then when he left you. Still only 23 and i gurantee (take it from someone who watches him week in week out and not judge him on one poor challenge vs ramsey) He would be in the England squad every time if he didn't play for stoke.

I reckon he is a better player then smalling. Looks like Rio might be gone in a season or two and rumours of vidic leaving looks like you might be building for the future.

His tackling is 100% spot on and he reads the game exelent. He is a strong lad and i dont remember one striker ever beating him in the air, He is also fairly quick.

One thing he needs sort out is his distrubution often prefering smacking it down the middle then a pass down the sides.

Isn't Fergie at the vanguard of the 'value for money' club? Why on earth would he **** on something he's stood on the past few years by blowing £17 million on a player that would be generously worth less than half that?
 
Say what you want but honestly he is one of the best CB in the premier league imo. If lescott is worth 23 million so is shawcross. (Man city CRAZY money aside)

I woud rather keep him then take the money

EDIT: Yea the value i agree he is not worth 20 million becuase he is not tested at the highest level yet. I reckon 12 million is what he is worth in reality. The thing is stoke dont want or need to sell so the only way he is going if its a crazy offer or Ryan asks to leave. Ryan is a well grounded lad and i dont think he would do that

Lescott wasn't worth 23 Million, that's the point.

Fergie as mad as he is nowadays would not ***** 17 Million on a kid he got rid of years ago, him and Cathcart were excellent while they were at United but I've not seen anything of either of them that makes me think "****, missed a trick with that one"

He's a good solid defender, he would be suited to a mid table team, Fulham, Liverpool, Stoke.

If Juve come calling he is gone, no offence but i think as much as Shawcross 'likes' Stoke...he would jump at the chance of champions league football etc
 
Not a chance we'd be after him, as rubbish as Evans has been we've got him, Smalling, Ferdinand & Vidic not to mention Brown & O'Shea if things got really bad

To the op not sure where you got rumours that Rio or Vidic are going anywhere in the near future

I added a bit to my post. Yea both players are not worth what these transfers arw worth.

Everyone has got an opnion and thats fine i hope he stays with stoke ,this is what fergie said before we played united last month.

I think Fergie rates him

For £20m I sincerely hope Wenger and Shawcross drop their grievances and make this happen. What a stunning bargain!!
 
Fergie saying he probably would've kept Shawcross if he'd of known who'd jump ship or get debilitating injuries is not Fergie 'rating' Shawcross. Just the same as 'kept around' is not the same as 'first-team'.

It wont happen. I think this price has come about becuase some teams are asking our chairman about him (mainly liverpool but they only want to spend £10 mill) and we have stuck a big price on his head. Now some sites are running away with there imigantion
