January Transfer Window 2010/2011 Season Rumours/Signings

Harry on talksport now.
Still blaming Blackpool :p

No blame on his side at all.. its smart to wait until 3 mins are left.

-edit-
Fee agreed was 6.5 mill, says Harry..

We had 6.5 mill rejected, so why accept from Spurs?

Blackpool chairman's a bit smalltime.

I would since his goal ratio is the best the prem has ever since (or was prior to hodge podge, ahead of henry i think?)

In his first 4 seasons in the EPL he's scored 65 in 102 games (0.64).
In Alan Shearer's first 4 seasons in the EPL, he scored 112 in 138 games (0.81).
So basically looking at the same period of their careers, Shearer wipes the floor with Torres in terms of goal ratio.

Not really fair to compare Shearer's overall Premiership goal ratio because, like most strikers, he was much less prolific in his last couple of seasons (as I'd expect Torres to be once he reaches that age).

My summery of the clubs who have done the biggest business;

Chelsea - by far should be the happiest of all the clubs, signed the best striker in the world and got a expensive defender where they we lacking also

Aston Villa - kept hold of all their players and got a proven goal scorer in Bent

Liverpool - lost the best striker in the world, got Andy Carroll as a replacement. Suraz who knows...

Newcastle - potentially screwed for the rest of the season, as if sacking their manager didn't set them back as it was

Man City - must be kicking themselves that they ruled themselves out of getting the best striker in the world because they blew their load too early - still a small time club

Laugh, out, loud. Kicking ourselves? Bought a great talent, still young, who could easily prove to be the best value signing this transfer window.

Worked with VdV, thought he'd try the same trick again.

At least I can say I saw Torres’s last game in a Liverpool shirt. What a disappointment it was too. Can see him hitting top form at Chelsea straight away though.

Weird yet wonderful day for the madness of clubs in need of a player.

Liverpool sell a completely out of sorts (yet no doubt extremely talented) Fernando Torres for a British record and in return...they 'pinch' (lawl) Andy Carroll for a small sum of £35million.

Can't wait for six months or so to pass and see how both deals look.

If you'd have had the chance of Dzeko or Torres at the start of the window the serb wouldn't of got a look in

Torres is all of those topped off with being a proven world-class striker, and the extra £25 million would be small change to your sandy sugar-daddies.

Torres had a great World Cup didn't he, been in dazzling form since.

I don't think Torres is the best striker in the World, but it's down to opinion, he's dropped off a lot. I still think on form he's one of the best and a fantastic player :)

SSN was saying they offered more than Liverpool for Adam's but it just wasn't accepted, still not enough. IE Liverpool offered 8-10mil, Spurs 12mil, and Blackpool didn't accept it. I can't imagine for any reason they'd have sold Adams today. AS said, Adam's might not be worth 46mil to Pool or anyone else, but if its no Adams + relegation, or Adams + stay up, he's worth 46mil TO BLACKPOOL.

Now if they could sell him for 12mil and buy someone good enough for anything less, they'd do it, if they had the time, but they didn't.

No idea what his problem is, nor his magical hold over usually sane business men who employ him, why would Spurs think another couple mil a year + 12mil or more transfer fee for a player who would never, ever get a game was a good idea? If they signed him for 5 years thats(assuming 40k a week) 22million on a player who would get less games than Pienaar, who himself won't play the second Bale is fit again.
