I don't claim to be ITK (in the know), i am not, but as some of you may know I am a youth coach at Tranmere and work closely with the reserve team.
Was at a meeting today in Brighton with other N-Power league youth coaches discussing training methods etc etc. (we have four meetings a year) George Smith (Boro Youth Coach) was there and we got talking about the Yakubu fiasco. Apparently there was a 10% sell on fee in the deal bringing Yak from Boro to Everton and Boro manager Mowbrey has been told he has 750k to spend this transfer window when last week he was told there would be no funds. Smith reckons that Evertons 7.5 million pound asking fee for Yak has been met but neither of us had a clue who by.
Furthering this, Agent Pini Zahavi's representatives have apparently been in touch with Boro claiming the 10% should go to the agency and not the club. Zahavi's greed is the reason the Yak deal was difficult to complete in the first place.
Again, as i stressed, i am not ITK, but just sharing a bit of information i received today.
