100 million minimum now

First image that came into my head when that price was posted earlier.

I wait with baited breath to see what Suarez does come the summer, he wont be leaving in the Jan transfer window especially as Liverpool are still in with a shout for the title and could possibly get one of the 4 spots in the CL for next season.

Well personally I think there are only a handful of worldclass players at any one time. Suarez is in that elite group of how many... 4 / 5?

Selling any of these type of players in their prime is in my view negative, regardless of cost.

Like a lot of people agree, yes you can buy some good players, but not many given the inflated prices now and will you match the performance levels and success under these very few elite players.... more than likely not.

Man Utd have lost the plot since losing Ronaldo, it's a controversial point considering they have still had success , but have they really brought anyone of any real value in since? I wouldn't even put Van Persie in the same league as Ronaldo, Van Persie has had 1 good season at Utd, this season is still undecided but he has gone back to being injured.

So Van Persie possibly since 2009. Yes it's hard to keep hold of these players, but great teams have these great players.

Liverpool are far from being great again but they have a really good chance with Suarez in the team and bringing in players around him. Sell him now and they go back in time again. So 100m for what? back to finishing outside top 4...?

And as for Tottenham, it's speculation to say where they would be if Bale had stayed, but I'd put money on them being in better shape so far this season. Yes they got a world record fee for him but at what cost really...

I don't see Suarez signing any new contract at Liverpool, he has made it perfectly clear he does n't want to be there. He will be off abroad as his contract runs down forcing Liverpool to cash in.

Totally agree, he wouldn't even bother beginning negotiations as he knows he is off....

You really think that after he desperately wanted to leave at the start of the season he is now miraculously happy to stay? He was desperate to get away and that does n't just change in a few months. They may renegotiate his contract to keep him there for next season possibly as he is under contract anyway but that is the best you will get out of him.

yeah he desperately wanted CL football, we're on course to deliver that next season. His wife and daughter are settled, why would he want to uproot them if we get into the CL?

Any contract negotiations will be complex and I'm sure it'll drag on to the end of the season. Suarez wanted to leave to play in the CL. If we qualify for the CL then short of a massive offer coming in from Real (which the club may be happy to accept), I'm confident he'll end up signing a new deal.

We won't be forced into selling him for 18 months and I don't think the length of his contract will change our asking price should Real come in for him this summer.

Suarez & his agent need to weigh up whether they want the extra £6m per year (signing on fee, agent fee etc) sometime in the next 6 months or so, or the greater bargaining power in 18 months time.
Most agents go through some negotiation process with the player's current club whether the player is interested in staying or not

They do?

So the latest rumour regarding Arsenal is that we are currently looking at Atletico Madrids inform striker, Diego Costa along with Lewandowski..who im pretty sure is going to Bayern unless ive missed something and he isnt??. Also Lorente, El Sharrawy and Lavezzi are being touted as possible Jan targets for Arsenal.

LOL as much as id love to have any of those players play for the Arsenal after Jan, cant see it happening as their respective teams would want a fortune for selling them. Secondly i dont think Wenger will spend £30-£40mill+ for any of these players especially in the Jan transfer window.

Love these rumours these papers get though, always a good laugh reading them lol.

Costa apparently has a 30m release clause, Lewandowski had allegedly had a change of heart on Bayern (I expect him to end up there, but it can't hurt to ask), Llorente is out of favour, and AC Milan are going to get nowhere near Europe this year. I'd say they're all possibilities, maybe except Lavezzi.

Apparently Reus has been linked with United as Dortmund are not looking so hot in the German title race. Sounds legit. Join United in their push for the premier league. Help us surge past Arsenal.... Liverpool... Chelsea... Man City... Everton... Newcastle... Tottenham. Oh god that has made me sad.

I wouldn't believe that about Costa, it was a $30mil euros release clause last summer when we (Liverpool) tried to get him, he has since signed a new contract.
