Its not exactly a long deal - 18 months - just hope DDG isn't put off by someone like that being signed given how little left he has on his contract (rumours are that he isn't, but rumours are rarely believable)

but what wages will Valdes be on? And he's not even very good. It's a truly bizarre signing imo.

I don't think it's going to be long now for Spain to come calling. He's been superb this year. I think he might sign a new deal but I doubt he will finish it.
 
Hopefully he will sign a new deal and if he has to go then we can get a lot of money for him.

Clearly never watched a Scottish Premiership game in your life have you?

A couple of years ago Celtic were beating Barcelona and qualifying for the last 16 of the CL.

Forster, Wanyama and Ledley are doing just fine in the Premiership. Wilson, Hooper and Boruc aren't doing bad in the Championship either.

Not being funny, but the money thats coming into the EPL at the moment, the traditional top four dont really have to worry too much about wages, even less so for City (with their " backing") and Utd with their world leading media / partner opperation.

Also think of all the kids currrntly in the squad saving 100's of thousands a week overall compared to a couple of years ago. I read recently McNair and Blackett will soon be offered new improved deals worth £20k a week plus bonuses for starts etc.

Also given the fact Valdes is arriving on a free, he is a gigantic improvement on what we had before as cover for De Gea. For the short length of time of the deal its a no- brainer.

Now IF the club decide to sell De Gea (or forced into it) then yes you may be right, but that doesnt appear to be the case so far with a new vastly improved deal being offered ( and by the sounds of it welcomed)
 
And United would be higher in the league if we hadn't had half the first team injured for the season so far. Swings and roundabouts.

We need a short term GK option and a CB and DM. But the last few signing we have made in Jan have been Arshavin in 09, Miyaichi in 11, Eisfeld in 12, Monreal in 13 and lets not forget Kallstrom.

Do you think Campbell is actually good? In all the games I've seen him play he's done pretty much sod all and can't pass for ****. He had a good game at the World Cup where he scored a goal and he's been dining out on that since.

I wouldn't say good, but his performances whilst on loan at gala were impressive.

He has hunger and works his butt off, I just think the past couple of Arsenal appearences he has lacked match sharpness. He hasn't been played nearly enough.

I can't see him as ever being a top player but maybe a good squad rotation player if he ever gets the chance properly. With the current crop of Arsenal midfielders I can't see him having that chance sadly.

True, match practice has been a bit lacking but I'm yet to be convinced. In contrast Podolski would look good when he came on despite only playing the odd game and we got rid of him.....Wenger lolz
