*January Transfer Window 2014/15 Season Rumours/Signings*

In that same quote your first paragraph seems to imply just that.

Personally yes I think its more likely currently that De Gea will save that one goal that could make all the difference, where as anyone else may not (he has already done it a few times in the EPL this season, no reason to suggest he wont in the CL if /when Utd return)

Yes and no. If we were scoring goals freely it wouldn't matter for the most part. Because we aren't and are involved in more tighter games where we concede guilt edged chances you need the best keeper you can get.

I can't be held responsible for your lack of understanding. I can only suggest you read a bit more carefully in future.

All my posts on the matter have directly mentioned the cost of signing De Gea - in what way can that relate to Utd seeing as they already own him?

And yes, it might be more likely that he'll make a save that Lloris (or similar) wouldn't. The key question is how likely it is that he'll make a save in a moment of a match that'll make a difference to winning or not winning the CL /League and whether it's worth paying such a big premium for such an unlikely event. Making a couple more saves which improve your goal difference or even gain you 1 or 2 more points but doesn't effect winning or losing a title is fairly worthless. Certainly not worth spending £40m more on anyway.

Confirmation that Assaidi's gone:

http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/178043-reds-confirm-assaidi-permanent-deal

He was never good enough for us but it's slightly surprising that he's chosen to go to Dubai when he turned down a permanent move to Stoke. I guess the are less cold Monday nights in Dubai and the money was a bit better.

£4.7m (plus £1-2m in loan fees over the past 18 months) isn't a bad return for a player that barely played for us and in the few cameos he had, didn't know which direction he was running most of the time.

I think Herrera never played yesterday because he would've been bullied plain and simple by Wanyama and Schneiderlin.

i'm not too gutted if it happens as he gets into the box far more than soldado or manu and he could link well with kane ...... when he's not offside

Apparently Holtby's move to HSV is going to be made permanent.

The idiocy behind the way we have treated Holtby is startling.

He's a headless chicken with no real talent at all.

He has 1 assist, 18 shots with no goals and 13 starts for Hamburg. 18 starts last year between Spurs/Fulham, 9 more sub appearances, 2 goals in 40 shots against Fulham and Cardiff, 3 assists against Villa, Newcastle and Utd. Even the Utd assist was later in the season against an ever worsening Utd. He hasn't scored against anyone good, he shoots constantly with zero quality, he constantly runs around but not as part of the team in a sensible intelligent way, he just runs off like a moron, leaving more gaps defensively in midfield without winning the ball.

He's a classic case of enthusiasm over quality, there is a break even point though where you need some talent. For the ultra attacking way he plays his lack of goals/assists makes him an utter waste.
