*January Transfer Window 2014/15 Season Rumours/Signings*

He's a headless chicken with no real talent at all.

He has 1 assist, 18 shots with no goals and 13 starts for Hamburg. 18 starts last year between Spurs/Fulham, 9 more sub appearances, 2 goals in 40 shots against Fulham and Cardiff, 3 assists against Villa, Newcastle and Utd. Even the Utd assist was later in the season against an ever worsening Utd. He hasn't scored against anyone good, he shoots constantly with zero quality, he constantly runs around but not as part of the team in a sensible intelligent way, he just runs off like a moron, leaving more gaps defensively in midfield without winning the ball.

He's a classic case of enthusiasm over quality, there is a break even point though where you need some talent. For the ultra attacking way he plays his lack of goals/assists makes him an utter waste.

Harsh to judge him when he has been part of entirely disfunctional teams with no coaching. He is young and needed some instructions and teaching.

Judge him once he plays for a team with a style and identity. Spurs under AVB and Timmeh and Fulham under Magath didn't have any shining lights.

Holtby had a rather screaming preseason and then got shipped out for some reason.

In other news, Henriquez joins zagreb permanently?

The 20-year-old joined Dinamo on a season-long loan deal over the summer, and the club have now moved to snap up the striker after his impressive goal return.

Henriquez has bagged 10 goals in 15 games this season, helping Dinamo to the top of the Croatian league.

United are understood to have agreed a fee of £780,000 for the player who joined from Universidad de Chile for £4m in 2012.

Rodgers has confirmed that talks have happened regarding Origi joining this January but it's not a done deal. Reportedly Lille finding a replacement will make it happen though.

There's also a lot of reports coming out that Jordan Ibe's been recalled from loan from Derby. I'm not convinced that's the best thing to do, although our new system creates a few more opportunities for him.

With Ibe and Origi possible joining the squad this month I can only assume somebody will be departing. Rodgers has ruled out any chance of Balotelli leaving this summer (although he ruled out any chance that we'd sign him too) and Borini's not likely to leave either which leaves Lambert. Pardew's admitted that he's spoke to us about signing him and WBA have also been linked too. I hope he doesn't leave because I think he has a place in the squad, maybe not from the start but at times where we're struggling to break down a deep defence, he could be useful from the bench. I suspect he'll be the one that's off though if Origi and Ibe are recalled.

Derby have confirmed that Ibe's been recalled from his loan. As above I'm not too sure that's the right decision but if Rodgers feels that there's a need for him then fair enough.

I guess the change in formation opens up a few more possibilities. Had we been playing a more traditional system he'd have been competing with 4-5 players for just 2 positions. The 3-4-3 directly or indirectly makes it 4-5 (5-6 with Ibe) players for up to 4 positions. He's still not going to get the regular games he was getting though.

It's without doubt worse for his development. We had to weigh up that and our needs in the short-term. Personally I'd have left him at Derby, not just for the playing experience but going for the pressure of going for promotion and all that comes with that. It would have been invaluable for him.

For him to be recalled there has to be some prospect that he'll feature for us. I heard McClaren talking about how impressed he was with Ibe's work rate and willingness to track back and do his defensive duties. It's possible that he could be an understudy to Markovic in the wingback role. We could have done with him last weekend to be fair - once Gerrard came off we had to make too many changes because we didn't have another attacking mid/winger on the bench, Ibe could have solved that.

I agree.
I really can't see him being used in a worthwhile manner at the moment at Liverpool.

And I don't even understand the Origi situation. He's not exactly going to do anything more than the current strikers by his current form.

Origi makes sense. Things aren't going well at Lille and it seems as if their supporters haven't take too kindly to him expressing his desire to join us early and have been getting on his back.

Even if him returning early only helps him settle in Liverpool so he's ready to kick on from the start of the season then it's a good move. He can't do worse than our other options either. My only concern with him is that our fans will expect miracles and get on his back if he doesn't score 10 in his first 2 games.

Strange move recalling Ibe, staying at Derby until the end of the season would have been far more beneficial for his development than sitting on our bench getting splinters in his arse - The Ogri move doesn't make huge sense either, he hasn't exactly torn up the french league, but again surely getting regular game time is better than warming our bench.

Lambert has been shocking, truly shocking.

He's been asked to be something he isn't. I mentioned it after the Wimbledon game. Rodgers tried to replicate the system we'd been playing with Sterling up front but with Lambert there instead. It was never going to work.

Lambert as a squad player, somebody you throw on with 20 minutes to go against a team camped in their 18 yard box is a good option to have. There's no point in having 4 similar but inferior copies of Sturridge because if he's having no joy against a certain system or defence, it's unlikely a poorer version of him will. We need another option and Lambert provides that.

The opening day of the season showed Lambert's worth. We were getting out played by Southampton that day and struggling to get out of our half. Lambert coming on gave us something different, we were able to go direct and build some attacks. Our winner that day came directly from having Lambert on the pitch - we were able to put them on the back foot and keep the ball in and around their box purely from Lambert's presence and we got our goal.
