*January Transfer Window 2014/15 Season Rumours/Signings*

Not really, unfortunately.
It looks as if Schurrle has gone to Wolfsburg for pretty much the same price so once again Chelsea will comply nicely with FFP after doing well in the transfer market.
True. They always manage to balance their purchases and sales. They alsomanaged to get rid of Salah (although temporarily).
Sugar daddy gets what sugar daddy wants.

:D:D:D

Zero national team caps, not a special talent etc. Perfectly acceptable question to ask really... He doesn't for any of the criteria.

If the criteria had been stuck to, Willian wouldn't have joined Chelsea either. And he'd walk into the England side so easily it's laughable.

And I never said there was anything wrong with the question. Just as there wasn't with mine.

And Coutinho to Liverpool amongst others don't forget.
There are 'special rules' which may be applied in these cases.

I actually didn't know that about Coutinho. I only knew of Willians case because I watched him quite a lot before he joined you. I was quite annoyed Arsenal never went for him :p

Edit: I generally don't care about a work permit. If a club is willing to pay millions to get you, and then pay you several thousand £ a month, then you're obviously good enough to be playing over here in some professional capacity.

You're annoyed that Arsenal didn't sign Ramires in a wig? All he does is run around a lot and you've got Welbeck for that job.

Danny Ings any good? Lots of stories tonight claiming that Liverpool want to sign him and loan him back to Burnley for the rest of the season.

Although he's out of contract in the summer, due to his age there would still be some kind of compensation fee to be paid if we signed him on a free in the summer so doing it this way would just save all the hassle of a potential tribunal etc.

ings has been rumoured to spurs for a few weeks. we just need to ship manu to psg on loan. not over the moon about it tbf though he looked decent when we played them.

Miguel Delaney says we're pushing for a centre back, but it's not overly likely:

Manchester United will make one last big push to sign either Mats Hummels of Borussia Dortmund or Aymeric Laporte of Athletic Bilbao over the last few days of the window, club sources have told ESPN FC.

Considering how bad we look at the moment (due to poor defensive balance, apparently), £37m on Hummels wouldn't be the worst idea. Having said that, it would put immense pressure on him and that's certainly expensive.

I'm also not quite convinced he's as good as some people think, but he is a big improvement and also has a lot of experience which would be useful.

Like Austin, he will be a risk I imagine for a big club and if he can step up. Be ten times better than Mario tho :p

£23m, so €31m. Pretty much a straight swap for Cuadrado, albeit losing Salah on loan for six months.

I wonder if we'll be bringing in another left winger? Jose is not a fan of losing squad depth, so logic would suggest a replacement for Salah, but with Douglas Costa seemingly off the table and only a few days left in the month I'm not sure anyone will come in.

Maybe Jose plans to give Remy some more time on the wings?

It'd also mean securing him before others in England can talk to him about a Bosman. Although obviously if people are genuinely keen, they could just talk to Burnley like Liverpool apparently are :p.

We would have to pay compensation anyway which could be a few million, doing it this way saves court and secured the player. By loaning him back Burnley don't lose out.

Makes sense really.
