January Transfer Window 2017/18

As good a player he is I'm not convinced by the deal really, it's a lot if money for an old player and our current attacking players are being stifled as it is. One more player to be held back?

He doesn’t really, it’s all about him and him only. He doesn’t care about Arsenal, if he did then he would have signed a new contract to prove that.

But in no way does he give a **** about Arsenal.

Very few players give a **** about Utd so he'll be right at home.

But in no way does he give a **** about Arsenal

Of course he doesn't - he is paid to deliver a result and now another team is paying him a fair amount more to deliver the same product. Who in their right mind would turn that down knowing that your time as a contractor is limited and your getting towards the end of the tenure?

I'll just be glad when the whole saga is done, I don't want to see him in an Arsenal shirt again - I equally don't want him to score against us when we play United (which he inevitably will) but that's the life of an Arsenal/football fan.

**** him and his **** dogs.

Malcom seems to be touted to Spurs now, not sure what happened there as I haven't caught up on yesterdays news.

Are you serious. He hasn’t signed a new deal because he doesn’t want to stay with a team that has no ambition and where he would waste the last years of his career getting ****** off and frustrated. Not a single top player gives a **** about their current club if they can move to a bigger, better club and get paid more in the process.

I have no idea why some fans are so small minded as to think their club is special and that players should settle for them when there are better options. What clubs would stand by a rubbish player who is constantly injured for years? That’s basically the equivalent the other way around. I don’t blame ronaldo for going to Madrid, I wouldn’t blame ddg for going to madrid.

Arsenal fans of all supporters should be used to their best players moving on when another club wants them.

He is a talented footballer, he was 26 years old, came from one of the best footballing sides in history, signs for a club with an ethos similar to his last club. 3.5 years (23 percent, almost a quarter of hus career) is enough to work out if he's in the right club.

Too much delusion on here, anyone else in his shoes would likely be making the same decision. It's a very limited career not a hobby. People should look up Jerry Seinfeld's bit on sports jersey's and lay off the butt hurt.

What has Sanchez done wrong? Only player for Arsenal that seems to give a **** when things aren’t going well.
You've been watching the last year or so? He spends more time impersonating a teapot than playing football.

When all is well one of his best characteristics is his drive and work rate however when things get difficult he's shown that he'll down tools and sulk.

Somebody mentioned the potential for the wages in the Sanchez deal to upset the Utd dressing room - by all accounts he's far from the most popular player in the Arsenal dressing room because of his attitude.

I think the reason Arsenal fans are annoyed at Sanchez is because of the way he's gone about things. I don't imagine that Coutinho will get much abuse if he plays Liverpool again at Anfield, he clearly had a dream to play for Barca and he still worked hard and performed well for Liverpool. I think the frustration for Arsenal fans is that Sanchez has not been at the high standard he was 12-18 months ago and has also thrown tantrums in the middle of matches. I get that he's an ambitious player who wants to win things and he's annoyed at what he probably perceives as Arsenal's lack of ambition, but imo he didn't do things in the right way. The main occasion I don't get player abuse is when they've left a club and fans hate them for that, players have no responsibility to stay at a club their whole career and I don't get it when fans expect them to.

I've said this countless times here. No arsenal fan is annoyed at him for leaving.

We don't blame him

You clearly don't watch him week in week out!

Not sure what you're on about. He would sign if Wenger got the sack and the board invested better in the squad and brought in a better manager.

The man is ambitious unlike most who are at arsenal who just coasting.

Part of our **** poor performance is down to some of the players themselves!

Sanchez always gave his all and I'm grateful for his service and don't blame him for leaving this joke of a club.

Shambles from top to bottom. Any half decent player would jump off this wreck of a club if they can.

Arsenal fans are annoyed about Sanchez leaving because his signing was seen as the dawn of a bright new era in which the team would be developed to become genuine challengers at the top of the league and in the CL. Instead we've regressed and seem further away from challenging than ever before in the Wenger years

... by all accounts he's far from the most popular player in the Arsenal dressing room because of his attitude.
or not by all accounts - Francis Coquelin has recently stated how much Sanchez was liked in the dressing room (interview was after his move to Valencia so was very recent)

"He is someone who, at any time, he can produce something magical so he is a top player.

hear a lot of things that the dressing room wasn’t getting on well with him but I don’t really know where that comes from.

“Sometimes that’s what people say when you’ve got a great player, we talk about ego but he is someone who is always keen to work and I didn’t have any problem with him.

“I don’t think the squad have a problem. I think the only problem is the uncertainty around him"

so really a lot of bs being broadcast about how unpopular he was

Sanchez apparently added to the team sheet for today's game but apparently said his goodbye last night at the arsenal Hotel?

I think that forced Utd's hand somewhat from what Ive read this morning - or Riola just got out the way long enough just in time

All Coquelin says is he didn't have a problem with him. Ask yourself why there's been so many whispers coming out about certain players not getting on with him. A very well connected Arsenal journo was on the totally football podcast discussing it and even went as far to say that Sanchez wouldn't pass the ball to certain players he'd fallen out with.

edit: and you never answered my question re Mane yesterday. What were the conclusions we were meant to be making when comparing Mane's form from last seasons to this?
