January Transfer Window 2017/18

City have a budget, that's why they've spent more than anyone.

And all the financial details only get included for United deals because we're the only club in the country that everyone wants to read about.

Aubameyang is at Arsenal's training ground. You'd think it has to be going ahead now.

Why?? He’s not tall enough for them, they want a tall lanky striker as they put a lot of balls in the air.

Perhaps they should look at Crouch if they want someone tall lol b

Aubameyang is 6'2~. Not particularly short.

Dzeko is 6'4 but he's not known for being good in the air.

Yeah. He’s also been cleared by Dortmund to have a medical. You’ve got to wonder, even if Dortmund didn’t get a replacement, would they really want a hacked off unsettled Auba trudging back to Dortmund when there’s £60m sitting there for them. I doubt it.

Guess we will soon find out if they lined up a replacement for Auba. Also after the weekends game, he wasn’t very well received by the Dortmund fans. Basically they put a huge banner up in the yellow wall saying no player is bigger than the club.

Wonder if Giroud has decided to go Dortmund or Chelsea as it pretty much hinges on him the whole deal.

Guess we will soon find out what exactly is happening with Auba and Arsenal.

LOL :D

Were Pogba, Lukaku or Matic's wages and signing on fees included in the reports on their transfers? No, they weren't.

As Danny says, Sanchez's have been because the non transfer related fees in the deal are enormous and make him (in real terms) one of the most expensive transfers ever. In terms of his cost per season he's only 2nd to Neymar.

I suppose what I found strange was the way some of the press started on £300k a week, and went up to £600k, then back down again. Totally inconsistent and it's clear a number of them were making it up as they go along (which isn't a surprise). Then again, with no transfer fee to focus on it was bound to happen, and yes it's more expensive than your average signing, but top level players are always on pretty big contracts.

They were mentioned in the Pogba deal multiple times. Pretty sure they were mentioned with Lukaku as well.

Now check out this article of De Bruyne's new contract. https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...city-kevin-de-bruyne-signs-new-five-year-deal

Where does it mention his wage? Or his agent's fee? Where is it all averaged out over the length of the contract? Where is that information for the Laporte signing?

Weird it's not mentioned anywhere.

The media only does it with United because they know everyone wants to read and talk about us.

Well said ive been saying that for ages buy all the players everybody else wants its so easy

Obviously there is some work to be done and Pep is clearly a good manager but their spending under his has been gross. If they sign Mahrez for 60 mil it takes them over the 500mil mark, how is that not falling foul of some bloody rules somewhere?

What I find incredible is that despite all the money they've been throwing around, City's record signing is only £1m or so more than Arsenal's, who aren't exactly known for splashing the cash

Because clearly City don't pay wages and players come purely to play for Pep.

With Sane now out, there are numerous reports that Man City want Mahrez. Probably too late...
They supposedly put a £60mill bid in for him as well, well that’s the latest rumour lol.

Also being reported in the telegraph that Giroud is to join Chelsea in a 18mill deal :/.

Jesus Mary wept, I hope that isn’t true at all. It’s utterly stupid we are giving/selling our players to league rivals.
