January Transfer Window 2017/18

So just heard that Ozil has signed a new contract at Arsenal for £350k a week before tax and keeps him with us till 2021 :eek:

Not sure how true that is but that’s a crazy amount of money for a player, who at times doesn’t look all that bothered about playing for us :/.

Also looking forward to seeing DM’s rage filled million paragraphs post, if this Ozil extension is true.
 
DM is going to explode, Ozil signs a new 3 year deal worth around £350k :D

Extortionate but at least it shows intention, hopefully this and Auba can bring some much needed confidence to the team. We've got a good enough 11 for the top 4, it might be too little too late but if Auba and Mkhi can hit the ground running at least the end of our season won't be so miserable.

4th is very unlikely unfortunately.
 
As far as the Premier League goes, this season is a write off. Need to get the team firing looking ahead to next year and go all out for the Europa so we can get into the CL by the back door
 
Am very surprised we got Auba in, top top player. I think Lacazette may end up as a bit part which isn't good as his confidence looks shot already. Glad we kept Ozil too. Would like Giroud to stay if possible unless Auba can be target man / good hold up player. Why on earth are we not looking at a specialist DM and some defenders though, so frustrating. Even Johnny Evans would be quite an upgrade at the moment. Also Cech is looking pretty shocking recently, I can't remember more than a coupe of games since he's been with us where I've thought he's kept us in the game with his keeping. He's done about what you'd expect of an average premier league keeper with some absolute shockers thrown in.

Am I right in thinking being cup tied is slightly different in Europe so that you can play for more than 1 club as long as you've only played in group stages?
 
Loving the arsenal self destruction right now. Ozil is bad even against mediocre teams and gets 350k. Wonder what aum is on? Then you have a team that has ozil/mhiki and laca/aum. How do you have them on the pitch at the same time? You've got stupid money basically invested in 2 players and then 2 clones of those players also on stupid money....Wenger's gone completely nuts

He’s cheaper than Sanchez:).
Think his wages are £170k a week, I agree spunking £350k a week on Ozil is nuts but Wenger doesn’t want to lose him. Also it’s £350k a week before tax;) so iirc at that sort of wage...it’s 40% tax bracket. So not too bad if that’s the case.

Oh and there’s a thing called rotation or maybe just play Lacazette and Aubameyang up front together with Ozil and Mikhi behind.

Secondly the Aubameyang deal was done on the basis that we paid Batshuayi’s loan fee to Dortmund. How true that is?? I don’t know, just read it a few mins ago. So I think that probably mean Giroud isn’t going anywhere at the moment. Which I’m pleased about as he has his uses.

And as much as you want to see or believe that there is some sort of self destruction going on, there isn’t.

As far as I know Aubameyang is cup tied for Europa league as Dortmund dropped out of CL in to Europa.

Bit unfair as he hasn't kicked a ball in the EL yet but rules are rules.

Arsenal sould sign joe hart imo hes no worse than what we got

He needs some confidence hes still a pretty good keeper imo

Cech should retire end of this season
