These people are just like cultists, unwilling to listen to any alternative views or see things in any kind of perspective. Some time in a secure location, away from the influence of their fellow cultists might do them some good but I assume they'll get nothing more than a fine which will be paid by their wealthy benefactors.

Those parts of the world have always had wildfires, nothing new there, just like over here we get floods, my parents talk about them being kids and being flooded from time to time, again nothing new. The difference is that such events are given real-time airtime now with a social commentary feature 24/7 available in the palms of billions at the same time instead of in the living rooms of the family TV set of old.

Did these activists get to these locations in oil-free vehicles would be an interesting question, are teh clothes they are wearing manufactured from 100% recycled materials? Is the food they eat to stay alive produced and then transported in a completely fossil-fuel-free burning way? The list goes on.

They're not just 'protesting' they're commiting crimes themselves.

And the general public have had enough of inaction by the state/ officials in too many cases as highlighted by the incident a while back where some posh ponces were dragged of trains by commuters whilst staff looked on.

I've never really been annoyed by what they've done so far but stone henge just seems totally counter to what they want to achieve.

Its exactly the sort of act that would turn off prior supporters.

Yes this planet goes through climate cycles spanning tens of thousands of years at a stretch, some even longer... We are in the middle of one right now since the Younger Dryas period about 12,000 years ago when there was rapid change in the global climate, were fossil fuels to blame for that, too? The evidential records are engraved in the rock layers and ice sheets of the planet. Human existence would not be halting climate change, but yes it can contribute to it, just the same way cows contribute large amounts of methane to the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. There are many factors, and just disrupting one isn't going to change the end result, because the climate will change regardless of what orange paint is thrown over what monument. These people are too dumb to understand these things though.

Wouldn't be surprised. They'd only need to nudge people in the right direction.

If I were in their shoes, I would.

Oil companies allegedly had their own data in the 70's that showed the effects of the fossil fuel industry on climate change and actively went on the offensive so it wouldn't be a shock.
