Insulate Britain is pointless in the grand scheme of things with climate change.

I am not insinuating that insulating your house is pointless and there were plenty of government grants for this decades ago. I am not disputing that but insulating your house is number 1001 in a long list of things and the effort these people go to for such an insignificant thing is laughable.

If these people did the real stuff like protesting mass immigration to reduce our carbon footprint in our country, protesting to make Nuclear Power stations to make our energy green and self sufficient, protesting to make our country more self sufficient in agriculture then it would gather the support of the vast majority of the country.

I don’t want to be mean at all, but the person has a carbon footprint whether they are here as a new born or an immigrant. Also they have that footprint regardless of where they are in Europe. I understand your point about population but that is not the same as immigration.

Merging climate issues with immigration sounds a bit daily mail to me. It would be very convenient for the failing government to merge the issues so they can deflect the blame for everything (which is exactly what they are trying to do).

Yes you are right the carbon footprint is still there regardless of the country but if we want to get the world in order first we need to get our own house in order. Immigration is just allowing us to continue our unsustainable lifestyle pyramid type scheme that we currently live. Without immigration governments/private companies would be forced to implement change and invest in technology to improve our way of life which would then filter down into the developing world.

Well I am buying a 1970's property before Christmas, and I know it needs more insulation, much has been done, more needs doing. I'll bet it will be an efficient warm home by next winter.

If people spent less on tat and more on their home they would be better off in times of expensive energy.

Why an older property? Proper size rooms, one double, one twin, one bath, one study.
Nice sized plot not a mock Tudor or Georgian in sight.

People even complain it is too hot when they visit. I guess it helps when your internal walls are made from brick and not stud walling. Lol.

Plus now you only really heat your house for 4 months of the year. November to March.

This is a semi but similar rules apply. All internal walls on two levels are concrete block construction. Externals are cavity insulated. Loft may need some more.

Our local police keep talking about their ‘top secret strategies to deal with it’. This included several police cars sat on the junction 22 bridge and 1 guy at the entrance to the slip road - so drive passed him, then drop off the protestors next to the gantry. Absolutely useless.
