Ok I want, I really want (just can't afford it this month). Not so much for casual, although I would if they made better designs. But for work and hiking. Staying dry would be great.

Its about time, we started living in the future.

You can already get clothing that repels water. I have a goretex coat that does exactly the same thing as that T shirt and its been through loads of washes now. I can't see the benefit of having this waterproofing in a Tshirt. If its a wet day surely you would wear a coat? Stain prevention in a plain white T shirt isnt that much of a problem as they are cheap to replace.

This tech is not new either, i have seen videos on Youtube of white trainers being dipped in mud and coming out clean. That would actually be very useful.

It's odd that I saw the video of the trainers being dipped in mud years ago and there are still no trainers or boots using nano waterproofing tech on the market that I know about. If its so great then surely every outdoor clothes company would be using it?

Edit: Seems the video I saw might have been a coating applied to the trainer rather than it being built in. I still think its odd that this tech has been around for a long time now and it's not being widely used. I'd love to see how long it actually lasts and if it actually doesnt wash out. It would be great if it was built into white trainers or to waterproof boots.

Lol.

A coat you need to have on you, its also am added layer which is extra insulation you may not want. Coats aren't great in the uk with such variable weather, you never know when it might rain. Things like this add protection, whilst adding no bulk.
Most days we have to decide if we are going to wear a coat at work, we can't just go back and get one, in case it rains. Then even if we do wear a coat we still get wet from sweat. These are perfect middle ground. If it does rain you get some protection, without the added insulation or awkwardness.
Same when I'm out hiking, although then I do carry one in my backpack 90% of the time, I generate more than enough heat not to want a coat, or to stop and get one out for a bit of drizzle or short downpour.

And yes I already have a bottle of normal hydrophobic spray that I've applied to me trainers, and you cant wash it. Although it does work, also not sure how long it lasts, the first time I used it, I stepped out of the work van and into a puddle of med, Came out clean and was very impressed.

If you watch the video this is actually woven in with the fabric and lasts 80 washes. Which they say is around 1 and a half years of normal use.

If you have an interest in video games and culture then you should pledge at least a minimum towards this:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/area5/outerlands-season-one?ref=live

The Area5 team behind it have a long history in games and gaming culture and have always produced excellent content either from the original 1-UP show days to their recent documentary on The Last of US.

Hopefully I can share this in the PC and Console forums too.

On Wednesday night, law enforcement officials contacted Kickstarter and alerted us that hackers had sought and gained unauthorized access to some of our customers' data. Upon learning this, we immediately closed the security breach and began strengthening security measures throughout the Kickstarter system.

No credit card data of any kind was accessed by hackers. There is no evidence of unauthorized activity of any kind on your account.

While no credit card data was accessed, some information about our customers was. Accessed information included usernames, email addresses, mailing addresses, phone numbers, and encrypted passwords. Actual passwords were not revealed, however it is possible for a malicious person with enough computing power to guess and crack an encrypted password, particularly a weak or obvious one.

As a precaution, we strongly recommend that you change the password of your Kickstarter account, and other accounts where you use this password.

To change your password, log in to your account at Kickstarter.com and look for the banner at the top of the page to create a new, secure password. We recommend you do the same on other sites where you use this password. For additional help with password security, we recommend tools like 1Password and LastPass.

We’re incredibly sorry that this happened. We set a very high bar for how we serve our community, and this incident is frustrating and upsetting. We have since improved our security procedures and systems in numerous ways, and we will continue to do so in the weeks and months to come. We are working closely with law enforcement, and we are doing everything in our power to prevent this from happening again.

Kickstarter is a vibrant community like no other, and we can’t thank you enough for being a part of it. Please let us know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. You can reach us at [email protected].

Thank you,

Yancey Strickler

Ok, I've got a question about the Oscar, I've funded the project at "Early Bird" level and know I will receive the schematic files before its release, will these include the CAD/DXF layouts of the included laser cut case, that way I can redesign/adapter it and make my own custom laser cut case.

You don't need an adaptor or lead or anything if you have an iPad, which is what that screen is.

Nice app, but i don't have or need an iPad, this is going to be a dedicated screen for a project I'm building with and for my laser cutting/engraving machine.

Thanks for your input and your support.
We are now thinking that we will release the cad files for the case along with the board schematic and everything else.

I will update this post if we make a concrete decision.

Sorry for the late reply

Anyone funded anything recently?

I've funded a couple of small wallets, and also Zipseam.

Need a smaller wallet for night out etc and at around £10 a wallet, what's not to like. Also the zipseam looks a bit weird and I'm not sure how it will feel when used inside a shirt etc but I've lost weight recently and still have a load of good shirts that i'm loathed to change/get rid off so will give it a try.

Will update when they are received.

Funded www.kickstarter.com/projects/1621478444/the-fireant-multi-fuel-backpacking-stove the other day.
A titanium ultralite, ultra small backpacking wood stove.
