***kickstarter***

Not sure if anyone else backed Sense (smart alarm/sleep monitor), but after two years the company behind it are hanging up their boots. The product was delivered (slightly late) but a lot of features were missing. V2 of their product integrates voice recognition (WHY??!?!). Now they've ran out of money and the product will stop working.

man this would be so cool. (and in the updates the creator doest even know why its failing, lack of research on how to make a successful project might be the reason)
However no wonder it will fail not only the price, but the videos are shocking and don't even show it working

edit -oh he does show it working in one of the other videos buried further don, but its not even the terminators voice, i don't know if alexa allows that, but that's really needed as well.

My watch off Meshable from Kickstarter arrived last week. Quality watch with quality components.

no surprise at all. Spend another year eating into the money before they run out.
Although moores law will help them with large price decreases in components.
i dont get some of the complaints though in the comments.

"im done with Kickstarter I keep falling for these projects"

how it was so obvious, over ambitious, massively under priced. let alone the other issues.
It was never one that looked like it would remotely deliver and then failed.

I used to just flick through the popular kickstarters once in a while and see if anything caught my eye. These days not so much though.

Looking at that hot list, so many are in the area of tabletop games. Almost $2million raised for those Bones figurines, what the hell. And somebody here was questioning the wine store/decanter

Of course they are, they're a very niche product. If you went to an actual investor and told them you're raising money for a tabletop game they'd laugh you out the door. Kickstarter is excellent for projects like that.
