La lune de miel est terminée!

Ok remain 2nd vote, 1-1 , what's next another vote best out of 3?
Face it we voted to leave, problem is we have a remainer at the wheel .

I think leave would win again as it happens, don't tell me polls say this, polls where wrong last time. Get a someone who believes in it and let's make a success out of it.

Unless you support the EU's referendum repeat until desired result.

Problem is I've never seen anyone who wants to leave with any idea how to actually do that (successfully or unsuccessfully) and few who will straight up say they want to leave at any and all cost even if that means a full on hard Brexit.

To be fair the French have usually surrendered by now. Nobody expected stiff resistance.

The old ones are the best, the English never tire of them, loud Americans, drunken Irish, mean Scots, WW2 Italian tanks that had six reverse gears, surrendering French, try and think of something new, or give the old canards a rest.

Actually when it comes to revolutions, the french are most experienced and rarely did they end in a white flag. Revolts were normally met with heavy handed policing in modern times or ongoing public executions when French royalty was a thing... until the guillotine was turned against Royalty.

It's funny that Macron thinks it's only about money

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-46513189
France's President Emmanuel Macron has promised a minimum wage rise and tax concessions in response to weeks of violent protests.
. . .
Macron condemned the violence but said the protesters' anger was "deep, and in many ways legitimate".
. . .
Macron, who has until now kept a low profile during the protests, acknowledged that many people were unhappy with living conditions and felt they "had not been listened to"
. . .
Macron, a former banker, has previously been criticised for being out of touch and not listening to the struggles of ordinary people.
Yeah, the peasantry seems to think that they have been taken for suckers as he has schmoozed his wealthy banker friends.

I wonder if this will be enough.I suspect not.

Doesn't matter if it continues the damage could be recession levels, which would totally destroy the idea of protesting over a little fuel duty. Mind you the average person at these protests would seem to have collapsed to the usual anarchist ***** once the violence got out of hand for more moderate folk.

Damage is currently sitting at 10b Euro if the French business group is to be believed.

Should do, the angry sheep will be too scared to be on the streets. If only he didn't slip away with a gun when they raided his house this morning...

A ban on public assembly has been issued, how convenient. The beauty of open borders means he is probably long gone by now.

Ahh yes because ONE man has done something unfortunate and potentially used open borders to an advantage, it's DRAW UP THE BRIDGE time.

amazing, there are plenty of British criminals living in Spain right now, we dont have the same schengen agreement that this is likely attacking, so it's immaterial as usual.

The mild inconvience of border checks is something I would put up with if it stopped killers just walking out. or more to the point walking IN!

I'm going to throw my hands up and say the past few weeks have been a bit of an education for me politically.

I've always believed that peaceful protest is the way and I often call out people when they suggest violent direct action but you know what? It seems that violence is now the only language the ruling classes understand, such is their contempt for the general population these days.

For example: What's the point in our petition site and what has it ever achieved apart from the odd dismissive government reply and meaningless debate? I applaud the French despite the unsavoury minorities and shameful "collateral damage". It's a Shame most of us are too timid to do the same. At least for now... :)

Problem is peaceful protest doesn't achieve much unless you can put the pressure on - most people have jobs, lives, etc. they can't spend days on end piling the pressure on and the ruling classes rarely respond to anything other than being under sustained pressure.

Violence unfortunately can achieve the same result in much less time.
