Lawnmower accident

Lads i dont think anyone would make up
NO SWEARING like this.

But i live about 5 miles from him, i am sure i will here about this soon.

I cant believe some of you dont believe him

If this is true and not sensationalist then I'm gutted for the victim... awaiting news article as I think a public trust fund appeal would be quite successful (and I'd be willing to donate).

Is there any reason why people are assuming this must be in the news?

I didn't realise every single accident that ever happens gets reported, regardless of whether or not the people involved want it to be.

Because tragedy sells newspapers? :( Without being cynical, I'd assume that reporting this to at least a local newspaper would be a good way of getting some generous locals to help set up some sort of fund to help the poor lass out financially (obviously money can't replace limbs but I'm damn sure it could help her have a better chance of life from here).

DM Poole just been permabanned? :|

:( :(

I think the entire forum wishes this is not true. But we have no evidence this has happened. Everyone has wished him and the young girl mentioned well. Like I said in my reply, if this is not true, it is a horrid thing to post, and if so this person / member does not belong on a forum like this.

If it is true, then god help that girl and the poster. And I'm sure we'd offer our unquestionable best wishes.

But we have have to be honest, this doesn't appear to be true, a story like this would very quickly appear on the BBC NI website. And we await confirmation

The members that doubt the accuracy of this post are not evil, sad or pathetic and are quite right to be doubtfull.

I wish that this is a false post.

Yes, I certainly understand why people would expect to see it reported in some way, I just don't think it's as simple as saying if there is no news about it, it's not true.

But why would it be on the BBC site? Unless someone makes them aware they will have no idea.

The BBC is the national publicaly funded news service, I'm not saying they MUST have the story on their site, I'm saying it's the service I would most expect to cover such a story, and do so relatively quickly. They cover much less important or high impact news stories, so it makes full sense to assume that they will (would) carry a story like the OP mentions.

As a motivating example the BBC are currently covering a fire in a carpet showroom.

I could come on to this forum and post "France was just nuked by North Korea" or "my neighbours dog just ate my child". I would not expect to be believed until such a story was widely reported. People can be very quick to believe what members say, but in this case I think we should reserve judgement / comments until it has been confirmed.

Like I say I am not in anyway saying the OP is a lie, just that members of this forum are not wrong for being doubtfull.

And again if this is true offer my best wishes to the OP / girl involved

My thoughts go out to the poor kid.

But sorry, what kind of complete idiot uses such machinery around young children. This is not an accident, it's stupidity and neglect. He should be locked up.

And dmpoole banned? Jesus, a few weeks ago Spie was offering him a job!
